Non slip boots (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Certain_Ad8766
Hey guys just a fellow greenbean wondering what the best boots for work are. Obviously something non slip please.

Honestly sketchers has some ugly ones but they’re cheap with our perks and they get the job done. Not sure if they have boots though I’m sorry

Skechers does have a few options for work boots. I've never gotten any myself but I've heard that they're pretty good value even at full price. Gotta make sure you're getting a pair that's both nonslip and waterproof though, a lot of their "work shoes" seem to be synthetic mesh which is gonna be even worse than canvas if you spill boiling water on it.

Quick edit: Looks like their work boot category is mostly leather but I still see some synthetic mesh in there.

I honestly just hit up WalMart and go to their work shoe aisle. Cheap, they work, and last decently long.

I tell people the avoid cheap shoes. You’re going to be standing on your feet for long hours at a time and want something that will be comfortable as feet health is very important. Cheap and uncomfortable shoes can also lead to serious back problems down the line.

Cheap doesn’t mean uncomfortable. 16 years retail and warehouse work experience. The WM Tredsafe shoes are comfy, decent looking, cheap, and good on your feet.

Shoes for crews has great non slip options

I bought $1 a couple weeks ago and I love them so far. Unlike docs, they were comfortable immediately without needing to break them in. I've worked a couple 8-hour shifts in them already with much less soreness than any other shoe I've tried (with the exception of a different shoe from the same manufacturer, which was only slightly less comfortable).

I like Docs!! My husband works in a factory and wears safety boots and he really enjoys Carolina's as well.

If you save up, I’ve worn my docs for my 2.5 years at the siren and they’ve held up great! They specifically make a pair that are non slip and padded on the inside, so they’re a little more comfy than the usual ones. 10/10 do recommend

Echoing the Shoes for Crews recommendation. I got a set of their boots within the last few months and I'm really liking them.

There's also like the Doc Martens route that can be expensive, but last forever and are really comfortable... but while they're being broken in they can be pretty rough.

seconding sfc! i had a pair that lasted years. only $60 too, they were still comfy even when my toes were peeking out the bottom.
