aita for not knowing how every single thing on the menu tastes(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by devotionofsuspectx
today some bitch pulled up in drive and gave me a hard time because i couldn't describe how the breakfast sandwiches tasted beyond 'it has sausage, egg, cheddar, and comes on a muffin bun' sorry but i don't eat that stuff idk what you want me to say!
she went as far as to lecture me about it at the window... 😐 i just had to share because it really frustrated me and i've been thinking about it all day since

Aside from knowing what’s on it, I’m not really sure what she expected of you.
dirtychai021890 points7m ago
it tastes like sausage, eggs, cheddar, and bread. what the fuck else were you supposed to say anyway if you HAD tried it?
cvpocoffee24 points7m ago
When they asked me what the sugar cookie oat latte taste like.. 😭
jsdod26 points7m ago
Sugar, mostly

For people who ask what drinks taste like, I like to take a short cup and put a pump of whatever syrup is used, it gives them a better sense of taste considering smelling is half of tasting where as describing it just dumb imo. Everybody has different ways to characterize drinks
cultsona2 points7m ago
thats such a good idea!! I'm gonna use that from now on thank you
mdwallaby1 points7m ago
Had the same thing happen with the chestnut praline. Guest: “what does the chestnut taste like?” Me: “it tastes like chestnut….”
cvpocoffee1 points7m ago
What else are you supposed to say? The name’s pretty straightforward
Old-Assistance-201736 points7m ago
“Well the egg, that tastes like an egg…. Very eggy. The sausage tastes like ground meat. Uh I’m very fond of cheddar, that tastes just like cheese!” This is the same kind of person that would say their soup is too soupy.

she's a toxic bitch that needs to get her life together instead of taking it out on you and those around her
witchyybabe19 points7m ago
lmao she's crazy.. i haven't eaten half the things we offer cus i don't eat meat so like.. idk man it's a sandwich!
mmms44415 points7m ago
When I worked at a deli, a woman got mad because 9f a cheese I hadn't tried. I offered her a sample. She refused it, orded half a pound while bitching that I hadn't tried it before to help her out with the taste

What if you were vegetarian? That lady can fuck right off 🙄
Deep_Mission_49983 points7m ago
I’m plant based and I just say that. “I’ve never tried it, I’m plant based, but it’s very popular”
egirlpiss9 points7m ago
yta obviously smh🙄🙄🙄🙄 jk i hate bitches fr
jams10158 points7m ago
I just say, "It tastes just like your grocer's freezer!" or ask, "Have you ever had a Jimmy Dean, but paid $6 for ONE instead of a box? No? You're in for a treat today!"
stonedtwitgnome1 points7m ago
Legit snort-laughed. 🤣😂
britspix7 points7m ago
Tell her you’re vegan!!
crowhusband6 points7m ago
i just hit em with "i have an allergy, i dont eat the food, sorry" when im too tired to answer LMAO
likechasingclouds4 points7m ago
I totally agree. we dont usually have time to sample each drink. I also kinda hate when people ask what I like or what I recommend because everyone's taste is different so I can't promise you you'll like it 🤷♀️ 😅
kingfreaks3 points7m ago
You could save yourself a lot of trouble by just lying lol. I do it all the time. Pick one to say is your favorite and when anyone asks you about a sandwich or pastry you can just be like eh it’s okay but my favorite is the XYZ.
cocoabutterkissez3 points7m ago
i eat the breakfast sandwiches all the time & even i wouldnt know how to describe it 🤦♀️ it just tastes like a sandwich w cheese and egg 🧍♀️
mandylee_281 points7m ago
Most of the food starbucks sell I can't have due to allergies and I tell them that. So I haven't gotten yelled at.
w3ird3n3rG1 points7m ago
I always feel like an asshole when people ask me how drinks taste. Because they are usually asking about things like the sugar cookie, and I just say it tastes like a sugar cookie…. Or what’s in the sausage, egg and cheddar sandwich…. It’s sausage, egg, and cheddar…. Also, my go too when I don’t like something is either, I’m allergic or “I haven’t tried it but it’s very popular”
Hazel_is_Trans1 points7m ago
Probably wanted to know if it sweet salty
But still f them
kearadunne1 points7m ago
If you’re a barista no, but if you’re a supervisor and up yes. 👍🏻 i have a wheat allergy and would ask everyone for a review of the food. Customers who order the same item everyday are the best for positive reviews
Traditional-Emu-14031 points7m ago
I can’t have anything we sell, including coffee, so I just lie. I Google what some of them are supposed to taste like or ask coworkers.
aee781 points7m ago
So many people have food allergies or restrictions. Who expects someone to have eaten everything on a menu in this day and age??
xxsophiamiller1 points7m ago
I’m allergic to some drinks and I just lie 😅 People get pushy when you don’t explain and then get upset when your explanation doesn’t sound good enough to them
fredforthered1 points7m ago
Sometimes they be like that. I’m the AH who would be so confused that I’d ask if she had either had those items separately or together, or say it’s reminiscent of the arch product, but with a frozen egg.
