hours cut/scheduled weirdly?? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by GhostfaceJK
i usually work around 25-30 per week. i noticed the first week of december everyone’s hours have been slashed… the first few days of december aka when it’ll get even more busy everyone’s working under 30 hours?

also, my new schedule just got posted and i was scheduled for a training shift that’s only 1.5 hours… what’s the point of coming to work for an hour and a half just to sit and do modules then go home…

i have another shift that ends at 8:30 even though we close at 7:30. isn’t closing only supposed to take 30 mins after the store closes? maybe it’s normal and im just new but i’ve never been scheduled to stay a whole hour after closing (aside from clean play which is on a different day)

up until now my schedules always been fine. i don’t understand why this is happening especially during such a busy time with the holiday season.

Not sure about the strange schedule but unfortunately Starbucks cuts labor to shit before the holidays every year:(

i was just about to make a post about hours getting cut… 2 months ago i was working 28-30 and now it’s a miracle if i hit 25. and now i can barely afford rent bc i’m essentially losing $200 to my paycheck every payday

i’m sorry about your weird scheduling though. being scheduled 1.5 hours for training just to go home right after makes no sense

the only thing i can think of for the 1.5 training shift you have could be a staff meeting? i had one of those shifts scheduled about a month ago and it was a staff meeting with our manager about updates and holiday stuff. it was weird
