Been at this for about two years now and I can’t take it anymore. Lost my benefits, and that was my main reason for staying. Wasn’t supported in any way by my DM or SM in trying to sort that out or even offering some sympathy.
Tired of working two and three partner plays and being made to feel like shit because window times are up. Tired of being disrespected, verbally abused and degraded by entitles customers every day in such high volumes.
At my age and with my health, I need to be done with this kid job. I want to work with people who are mature (currently feel like I’m working with a bunch of middle schoolers). And let’s face it, starbucks money isn’t going to pay the bills.

I’m getting my resume out there and shooting higher this time, but just wondering if there are any former partners here who have made the jump out of minimum wage fast food starbucks life and could give me any advice on what kind of employers would hire an ex barista.

If you made the move, where were you able to get hired with the skills and experience we gain from the siren?

the hours are tough if you’re a morning person but people love to hire bartenders that have barista experience

If you’re fine with serving alcohol definitely look into bartending! A lot of places see barista experience as a hand in hand type of job, but look into a position you can get while also getting your license for bartending as well. Most places will have training positions if you do decide to get the certificate for it!

Thanks for the suggestion, but it sounds a little too much like what i’m already doing, only not being able to see my family.
