Is it normal to have difficulty getting moved forward to the interview step? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by NiceNefariousness890
For context, about for a year or two I have applied on and off to a local starbucks, mostly because having a close job would be a great boon since my transportation is limited. Usually I would apply if I saw something about them on indeed or if I was looking at options for quitting a current job. Anyways, every time I have called besides very recently I would never hear back, even after informing the head manager on the phone that I had applied. I would go weeks without hearing back, even if I called and left my name and number for a shift lead to give to him. It was a very weird situation since I had experience working at Starbucks at my former college, and I never received notice if my application was viewed or not, including the manager acting as if I had never called him before.

At this point I had forgotten that I applied again, but for the first time I received an email saying that my application was not moved forward months after I had last submitted. I assumed it was because of the limited hours I put down because at the time I was looking for a second job. Yesterday I saw another notice that they were hiring so I figured it was worth a shot. Even though I had open availability (10am-10pm mon-sun and clicked the option clarifying that I had more than was listed.) and like I said experience at Starbucks and another coffee place I was rejected.

Basically what I want to know is it hard to get an interview or is this peculiar behavior? I saw people mention that the system flags you if you put down that you are a previous Starbucks partner but I am not sure?

Tbh i applied and actually started a different job that I hated, they called me into an interview like 2-3 months later, i forgot I applied, so I went to the interview then started at Starbucks the next couple weeks.
