how do you pull a shot (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by dazedinreverse
When I was hired it was several managers ago and while I was barring and still a green bean I was yelled at for pulling shots directly into the cup. Mainly because if the shot doesn't pull right you have to dump it out and that would waste the syrups etc. Well the other day I was pulled aside by our new SM and told I should only be using the espresso shot glass for macchiatos. Being told this a year into my employment seems like an issue in itself but onto the point of this post

How do yall pull your shots

The only drink that I pour shots into a shot glass for is a caramel macchiato. Everything else goes in the cup. I've never been told different and I've worked for the bucks for almost 3 years 😂

I’ll always pull into the shot glass, but only because every few drinks the shots from our machines pull weirdly. I don’t trust it, but if they were more consistent they’d be going into the cup.

The new Mastrena has a star indicator on the display that lets you know if it was a good shot.

I pull them into the glass for macchiatos or if someone wants a few diff syrups and a bunch of packs of sweeteners I’ll pull the shot into the glass while I open all the packets and then pour it into the cup. Other than that I usually pull them into the cup

I was hired in June and it was drilled into me that you never pull shots into the cup directly. I only use the shot glass.

I have been training the past two weeks and my trainer (who has worked 4 years at starbucks) always pulls her shots in the shot glass. I will be moving back to the store i was hired at tho next week and i’m not even sure now how they pull their shots. Commenting to stay posted.
