I forgot starbucks turned into a catering company...(reddit.com)

I knowww!! There should be a separate “catering” section for orders over like… 6 drinks and 6 foods. And it should make the person who placed a catering order arrange to have it placed in the mid-afternoon, and picked up like 40 minutes later, plus the system should automatically halt mobile orders when we receive a “catering” order and automatically re-start mobile orders when we have completed the Catered order.
That way BOTH customers and Baristas won’t be stressed and irritated.

i may get shade for this but…. all that plus a minimum automatic gratuity

Honestly a store for just large orders placed ahead would make so much more sense.

36!?! let me guess, it was during peak rush?
edreesmiraki [OP]48 points7m ago
Yup and right as a partner was clocking out too cause my manager thought it was a great idea to have a one hour gap between when the next person comes in during peak :)

Lol could literally get a TON of brownies like more than 36 of em store bought from the bakery of any grocery store for way cheaper than all this lolol why are people like "oh i need a catering amount of food, leme hit up a Starbucks where each brownie is almost $5". I dont get why starbucks would be their first choice when theres no bulk pricing and its expensive as hell. Do they think its better quality just because its coming out of a Starbucks?? Lol

They completely wiped out our butter croissants, idek what else they ordered since i was on reg and someone separate was on oven

That's insane that people are ok and willing to pay a fortune for our pastries and why they buy bulk from us when we dont have wholesale/bulk pricing. They dont understand that we pull a certain amount of pastries for the day and they wipe us out. Then theres other customers who sometimes get mad that we are out of something. We dont pull a catering amount worth of pastries because we are not a catering company nor are we equipped with enough people and the right equipment to be one. They literally can get better quality brownies and butter croissants from the grocery store bakery section. Starbucks is just a status thing for some people and they feel like theyre getting better quality for their money just cuz its coming from a starbucks store. Little do they kno starbucks barely has a grasp on making sure theres oversight at the quality control offices or whatever lol

It's horrible! We have a few regulars who order massive amounts of food daily.... When there's a grocery store with an awesome bakery literally right beside us.

I've had some upset because we ran out of cake pops. There's at least 3 grocery stores 5 mins away ( I'm at a ohio location and we have an aldi's, Walmart and giant eagle all nearby) like get the kid wants a cake pop, but when you try to order 10? Just buy some cupcakes at Walmart and call it a day. It's definitely better than them too
cherryyrat7 points7m ago
holy shit and our brownies are like $3 each too
Chromosomes236 points7m ago
The worst is when you get a large order like that and they tack on a couple travelers like everyone has to put on turbos to get these done during peak.
edreesmiraki [OP]4 points7m ago
Im so glad we turned off travelers in our store :) (we ran out)
Chromosomes233 points7m ago
We have ours turned off, didn’t realize until a customer called to order them lol 😂

floofxs23 points7m ago

How do you even manage this if you only stock like 8 packs of brownies a day???
edreesmiraki [OP]1 points7m ago
Wasnt just brownies man 😮💨 a bunch of croissants and cheese danishes too. Pretty sure we had like 2 butter croissants left at the end
Enough_Raise_71672 points7m ago
The other day someone asked if we had any fresh brownies...

I've had so many like this, and I'm a new partner. (About a month in) most of the time its just me doing front, oven, and cs while this happens. Not fun. I love my store otherwise though, lol
