CC tipping (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by dxdewhxt
PLEASE please just let them have the option to tip! Kinda scary how many baristas I hear are just hitting “no tip” for the customers. If you need something to say, just say “there’s going to be a prompt to answer before inserting your card” when you hand them the reader. The amount of people I wouldn’t expect to tip, tipping $2-$5 is insane. That stuff adds up!

It really does, we get $1-$2 per customer on average at my store. It’s pretty rare for them to not tip.

people used to get mad at me because we DIDNT have CC tipping!!! i’m thrilled that we have the option now

also! please don’t say things like “there’s a button for you to press, you can just hit no tip it’s ok.” give them the chance to do what they wanna doooo

If I was told by a cashier to just hit no tip I would assume those cc tips aren’t actually going to them and would hit no tip. People on this sub are absolutely ridiculous. Y’all have been complaining for years that we can’t receive CC tips and now that it’s rolled out y’all are “too anxious” to do it? Lmao

Yeah cause its fucking awkward in drive? I like CC tips and I love receiving them but right now our customers aren't aware that this is a thing we're doing, and awkwardly handing out the reader to a car 3 feet away feels so weird right now. We'll get over it and I don't think its worth hitting no for them obviously but yeah its an adjustment especially if your stores customer base is especially rude.

Were not allowed go tip or not tip on their behalf

It's a fireable offense

We can't tip on their behalf, but if you have to walk to a different register, like lets say the front because drive's card reader isn't working, you have to push no tip for them.

I got 70 dollars extra in one week from CC tipping. Let them tip y’all !
