What about pay raises for seniority and such? There have been like three rounds of pay raises in the last year or two, many of them effecting only certain partners or effecting certain partners more than others. And I don’t know how it works now but in the past, stepping down eliminates some of those pay raises as well (for example, I think there was an increase for SSVs earlier this year that was higher than for baristas). And I know for a fact that as an SSV, I’m getting paid WAY more than than 27% more than barista starting pay. Granted, I’ve been with the company for eleven years, but I certainly wouldn’t be able to begin to figure out my pay rate on my own if I stepped down.
