Nope! We can if we want to, though - I still do.

Thank you! I’m getting ready to start in about a week, and I just went to a store, and every single worker was wearing a mask which made me wonder if it’s a mandatory policy.

if you've seen how 'sanitary' some customers are you'd wear the facemask too. i think i change the bathroom soap every blue moon and tax holiday

We have to if we had a Covid exposure

It is possible someone on the team was recently Covid positive. When I was Covid positive, anyone who had worked with me within 3 days of my positive test had to mask for 10 days.
It is also possible everyone on the team is just Covid conscious. I've worked as a borrowed partner at a store where almost everyone masks by choice, it appears.
The official policy is that you can wear one if you want. Like mentioned above, other rules apply in the case of a team member having a Covid positive test

If there has been an outbreak at the store recently then that’s probably why. I would wear a mask until the others stop

Someone in that store has/ had covid

partner in germany here, we do have to wear masks at the moment because the number of cases has been increasing again. i’d imagine the rules are different depending on the country‘s situation
badatlife1554 points7m ago
In the US the cases are rising but our government is made up of buffoons who will never mandate us to return to wearing masks and a country full of so many ignorant people who can’t be bothered. Lol
reddskeleton6 points7m ago
I agree! It’s like “The Emperor’s New Clothes,” here in the US.
Hazel_is_Trans33 points7m ago
No but i rather have it because of family but it up to the partner
broccoli-duck27 points7m ago
No but I like wearing it so old men don't tell me "you'd be pretty if you smiled" 🙃
hotcheetosm83 points7m ago
A shipment guy still told me to smile while I was wearing a mask and I was like “how do you know I’m not smiling? I’m wearing a mask? And he’s like “haha you got me there”
doing_my_best_here1 points7m ago
This 😔
frankenstein10522 points7m ago
it’s not mandatory, not in the US at least
Personally I’d rather wear it and have the person making my food or drink wear one in the event that someone sneezes or coughs and what not, I feel like it reduces the likelihood that spittle or something will end up in someone’s food.. Kinda like a hair net lol, I feel wrong preparing drinks for strangers without it
dontcry20225 points7m ago
Yep! I was Covid positive recently and since I can't catch or spread it for a bit, I've paused my wearing a mask to work, but since doing so I have already seen how PRACTICAL masks are when preparing food and drinks. It just makes sense to have an additional barrier, especially during cold/flu season too, between us and the beverages.
nerdsonfire14 points7m ago
No but I wear one because of the contact with customers. Especially the amount of people ordering medicine balls and telling me they feel sick.
It’s also easier to talk shit without anyone reading my lips lol.
Traditional-Emu-140313 points7m ago
Not in the US. Some still do but it’s personal preference
CamdenF9 points7m ago
With how many sick calls every store is facing, you’d think they’d bring it back. I’m still rocking mine.
nothingbutdeath9 points7m ago
it’s not mandatory in the US but i wear one still because my mother is immunocompromised and customers are nasty. i also have face piercings that are out of dress code and don’t want to take them out lol
looker0097 points7m ago
No, but if all other partners are wearing it, it will make it awkward if you are not wearing it .
socalsailor027-42 points7m ago
Don’t let people pressure you into wearing a mask though
Hazel_is_Trans31 points7m ago
I do agree but my store dose it for a fellow partner whom is immunocompromised so it’s completely up to you but your helping protect yourself your fellow partner and both your family and your fellow partners family
nikkicarter111112 points7m ago
Why not?
peepeepoopaccount5 points7m ago
Only if there’s a recent exposure
aee785 points7m ago
Not in the US. Other countries have different requirements.

Not unless your sick/ were exposed, the policy is changing a lot tho
desperatenuff1 points7m ago
it varies from which country you’re from, i’m a partner from singapore and we’re required to wear our masks
udderlymoovelous1 points7m ago
Nope, the requirement went away last March. I still wear it when it’s flu season or if other partners/customers are sick
