Differences? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Nikki360PDX
Hey everyone! My little cousin works at a location that isn't in a Target, Safeway, etc. She thinks that working at Starbucks would be good for me, at least for a while, due to the fertility benefits offered (she's heard they are good). However, she doesn't know the answer to the below questions. She's an 18 yr old kid still on her parents insurance. So she didn't really pay attention to anything concerning benefits, especially ones having to do with healthcare when she got hired.

What are the differences in benefits offered between the stand-alone stores and the ones located within a Target, Safeway, etc? How soon do those benefits start? Fertility benefit limits, etc? Thanks!

from the partner guide book:

“U.S. partners (excluding hawaii):

initial eligibility for baristas and cafe attendants: following hire, a partner becomes eligible for benefits on the first day of the second month after receiving at least 240 total hours within a consecutive, full three-month period. total hours include benefit hours to account for worked hours paid, as well as leave of absence hours to account for time on approved, eligible leave.

initial eligibility for shift supervisors, shift managers, assistant store managers, store managers, and retail management trainees: following hire, a partner becomes eligible for benefits on the first day of the month after reaching 60 days of continuous employment.

an enrollment packet is mailed to the partners home address on file approximately three weeks prior to initial eligibility and the coverage effective date.

a licensed store (in target, safeway, ect) will not have the same benefits as a corporate store.

A “stand-alone” Starbucks is a corporate Starbucks so it’s going to have our benefits which includes free therapy, healthcare, Spotify premium, PTO, etc. I’m retry sure the benefits start after you work 20 hours a week for three months.
