Did your SM worked or ASM, if you have one, worked Thanksgiving holiday? (self.starbucksbaristas)

Both my ASM and SM took Thanksgiving off, just wondering if your SM or ASM stuck through thanksgiving hell with you for the whole day or at least for part of the day.

SMs/ASMs get PTO for thanksgiving, so unless they are looking to “earn” another day to use later in lieu of using it day of, they aren’t normally going to work any holidays where baristas get time and a half. I’d only expect SMs to work on those days if the store would end up being severely understaffed and the hadn’t already put in pto.

Nope, neither one worked. However, our manager did come in for Black Friday, at least. He even had the lobby closed to help us out a little bit, which was nice.

My manager worked it, he was on the floor the whole time helping everyone out then stayed later then what he scheduled himself so he could help us some more (We all love our store manager at my store)

My SM took it off but then volunteered at an event with a bunch of other Starbucks managers. I commend her for it because if any of the other partners had it off they 100% wouldn’t be volunteering but she also made it a sign up day so win-win for everyone.

outta curiosity what where your store’s operating hours for thanksgiving?

I offered a sign up sheet for thanksgiving. I had more than enough people sign up for the day so I did not have to. I did get a PTO day for it.
