i’ve only been working there for a little over 3 months but was planning to visit family for 4 days in another state around christmas. do you think it will be accepted if i request to not be scheduled for those 4 days? i’m a minor too. i’ve also never asked for days off or anything before so i just wanna know what to expect

Put in the request ASAP! it really just depends how many other people have requested off the same time

Being that it’s the holidays it might get denied, but you’re absolutely allowed to request off- it’s best to put in the request as early as you possibly can

But also good chance for them get it off since they state they are a minor

Yes! You can request them through the scheduling app if you have it or in the “partner hours” program in your store computer! My advice would be to make sure you ask for the days at least a month in advance. Once you’re with the company for a year, you are able to get those days off paid too!

omg that’s cool thank you!

Put it in right now as a request. Hopefully you have a store that has a lot of folks who want to work the holidays. My store happens to be one of those stores, because we ALWAYS split tips off any federal holidays, plus that sweet time and a half.
Other stores have more partners who'd rather be off for the holidays.
Most store have a mix.
It's still a few weeks out, so I'd put it in TODAY and then either call or text my scheduling manager to give them my best beg. I'd definitely use, "I'm a minor, no one in management ever told me to do this and my parents are making me. Do you want to talk to them?!..." if you have to pull it out.
Good luck!
(If you end up working the holidays, the money is usually worth it.)

ohh i see! i kinda wanted to work a holiday for the tips but i wasn’t sure if they wanted my help bc of my hour limits and all. when i put in the requests how should i word my reason, do i just state the reason or ask nicely? sorry i’m just overthinking this hjbhshsh

Do you have the Partner Hours app? You can use the app to submit a request for time off. You can also use the online version at https://starbucks-wfmr.jdadelivers.com/retail/portal. Requests must be submitted at least 3 weeks in advance. Lots of people typically want time off around Christmas, so get your request in as soon as possible.

i see, i put my request in so hopefully it gets accepted 😭

You’re always allowed to ask off, just never really guaranteed to get it. People at my store ask off for thanksgiving and Christmas typically months in advance. We also have a sign up sheet for those holidays too so hopefully yours will get approved!

Just ask they can accept it or deny it’s not payed that’s y’all if it’s payed then it’s a different story
Paid-Not-Payed-Bot3 points7m ago
> it’s not *paid* that’s y’all
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
