I’m so tired of this company(self.starbucksbaristas)

When I first joined as a partner I was so motivated by the company’s ideas of connecting with others. I’ve been in the company for a long time and it’s high time I move into something like ASM instead of being on the SSV team. But I literally cannot imagine it. I grit my teeth at every SSV meeting and cringe every time the company priorities money instead of it’s partners. I know it’s always been about the money but it’s not even funny how different it is compared to when I first started. It’s soul crushing to look at my partners on the floor and tell them we’re getting our labor cut AGAIN. I’m tired and so are they. I cannot wait to get out of this company before it all catches on fire.

Same. As an SSV this company and my fellow shifts are sucking the life out of me. Drive time piss me off the most. Our DM wants our drive times below 40 seconds on weekdays and under 60 seconds on weekends and I literally can not do it. How are we supposed to connect with consumers while basically throwing their drink out the window at them. And my other SSvs get so worked up and anxious during their shifts. It's literally just coffee, my dudes. Fucking relax.

Exactly! Our metrics are insane for what we are given. And the new DT tip option? With under 40 second drive times? It’s impossible.

I feel the same way. I became a shift to make my store a better place, but instead I'm watching everything burn thanks to what you mentioned above. I dread coming into work and feel like we are past the point of no return. To make matters worse, I've tried finding work pertaining to my degree but only keep getting denied because all I have is food service experience. This company used to look so promising, and I was proud to be a part of it. Not anymore.

I just put in my two weeks after only being with the company for 4 months because I could quickly tell where the companies priorities were and that none of the managers were even going to be allowed to do anything to make it any better.

While I’m sad to hear it, I’m happy you didn’t spend too long in the company. I hope you’re heading somewhere that truly does care about it’s employees.
