prob not seems like it would get snagged on somehting
thechamelioncircuit26 points7m ago
Depends on the SSV but I’d say it’s impractical
RighteousnessBrigade15 points7m ago
In my opinion the biggest problem is the fishnets. Especially if you do get snagged and accidents happen all the time, I’d be afraid you’d get burned
nicolelynnejones11 points7m ago
Depends on whether you think it’s a “subtle print” or not. That can be very subjective. It’s a cute outfit tho, I just don’t think it would be super comfy to work in. Maybe pair it with leggings so you can at least bend in peace? But yeah ask your SM
ElevatorsAreScary7 points7m ago
Based on the sweater looking too much like a sweatshirt, I’d say no. Also potentially a no based on how high the skirt is cut, from the angle down you can’t really tell if it’s 4 inches above the knee or not.
Also, this seems uncomfortable for work. I’d say throw some tighter sleeves on, and then I’d be more okay with it.
One thing to look at with this dress and the tights is if they are made of legging like synthetic fibres. Leggings aren’t allowed because the synthetic fiber will melt onto your skin if hot water got on it. A girl at a store I worked at had fresh coffee fall on her arm, like a full venti, it got trapped by her shirt because it was a tight, leggings material shirt, and she got second degree burns all down her arm. So my biggest concern here is for sure whether this could melt onto your legs. But that’s not a shift dress code concern, more just a general safety one.
Not sure if I’d say this is dress code or not honestly lmao

if i don’t wear it with solid black, cotton leggings, i wanna wear it with fleece lined “sheer” tights, the synthetic material goes over the fleece, do you think in the event of a spill the fleece would protect me from the melting synthetic?
ElevatorsAreScary2 points7m ago
That would for sure be better. Maybe check the makeup of the fleece lined tights just to be safe. With the added layer of the apron over the dress as well, I think that would be much safer with different tights. It is a cute dress, just make sure nothing touching your skin is synthetic

To be brutally honest, that's not acceptable in any sort of professional retail or office environment in my professional opinion. The sweater could pass separately as a top with like dress pants or a separate skirt but adding what appears to be a nightie with Hot Topic stockings is a bit much for Starbucks in my opinion.
Not trying to be hurtful do your style and however you feel best to be the best version of you, but at work I couldn't see a barista dressing like this. I'm from 2008 last I worked at Starbucks and really it was basic khaki or black pants dickies/dockers, and dress shirts white or black, and a belt non stick shoes, pretty basic, but nice to see the rules are more lax.

Super cute! But I feel like those sleeves would drag in everything if you’re not vigilant.

ask your sm
-_-slimshady3 points7m ago
as a ssv…i would say no, but it all depends on the store! definitely ask your sm either over message or wear the outfit and bring a change of clothes that are in dress code just in case
grapesodabb3 points7m ago
just want to clarify, i meant to crop the pic a bit because i was planning on solid cotton leggings instead of the tights i have on with it, tighter shirt makes sense, the dress comes to like half an inch above my knees, maybe like 3/4 inch at most
