I have people like this at my store constantly.. and people wonder why we end up with so many people out sick (usually with COVID) at the same time.

and customers still ask if me wearing a mask is a personal choice or if I’m forced to.

Tbh if I can, I try to pretend I didn’t hear them or say “sorry, one moment and I’ll be right with you” if I can look busy 🤣 because when customers approach us to ask or comment about masks, they’re doing it to be an asshole flat out. They can see not every single partner on the floor wearing one (statistically most likely) so OBVIOUSLY we aren’t required and it’s a choice.

when I’m in drive they can only see me. so its a genuine question.

In my experience, grumpy anti-maskers ask about masks just to be rude and further their anti-mask stance so I don’t want people asking about why I’m wearing a mask at all.

I hope eventually I can wear one and it won’t be a question because I’ve never gone back from masking at work 😅 it’s nice and I’m not expected to smile so much anymore which doesn’t come naturally to me unless I’m made to smile

Ugh I can't stand when ppl put other people at risk when they're sick, I'll fight someone that exposes me to their icky sicky

Call the partner contact center and report the partner for lying on the covid check in. Could also call your local health department that you have an employee lying about being sick if Starbucks doesn’t do anything.

Dont blame the person, blame the shitty system that makes people feel like that can’t call off or need the money because our jobs don’t provide us with enough money or support

You obviously missed my point. People wouldn’t feel the need to lie about this shit if employers took better care of employees
