Am I the only one who feels like pizza parties are awful. Like I always feel like it’s 2nd grade again and we did the bare minimum by not blowing up the school bus so our teacher pulls any pennies she can to have a pizza party. Only instead of it being a poor teacher it’s a multi million dollar corporation

i think that's why it's the epitome of the "companies trying not to have their workers unionize but spending no money to not have it happen" meme. corperations will have record-breaking profit margins in the billions for the quarter and throw a $200 pizza party for each store that made it happen. you know. the profits that the employees created on their own. yea.

As much as I love pizza, I hate pizza parties at work. They always buy an absurd amount (like 10 boxes!!!) when over half the store can’t even have it due to dietary restrictions (lactose intolerance, gluten allergies, vegan, etc). There’s always so much wasted. And even if I wanted to eat it, I can’t, because greasy food destroys my stomach (and pizza is the worst offender so far). I’m fine at home because I can eat more than 3 bites without suffering

Or the exact opposite happens. I worked at a dispensary for a lil bit and on 4/20 my manager tried to throw a pizza party. We had 20 people working and only 2 pizzas showed up plus a tiny school milk carton size of iced tea 🥲 half of us still had to go out and buy lunch because by the time we were sent on break the first pizzas were gone and the replacements hadn’t shown up yet. So a “nice effort” actually screwed half of us who were banking on a free lunch for once 😭

Our DM recently sent us a MrsFields giant cookie in congrats for hitting 50 seconds DT times but when asked to shut mobiles off for TWO HOURS in the afternoon on a Sunday just to run lunches and get caught up it’s crickets. Save your pity pizza, I’d rather have the labor and support to do my job properly, thanks. 🙄🙄
