Getting Sick more often lately? (self.starbucksbaristas)

I just got back from a family get together in another state so I wasn’t working a whole few days. But the moment I come back and work a shift, the next day I am wheezing and coughing with a fever.
I’m getting slowly frustrated with the amount of times I’ve been sick since starting working at starbucks.
I’ve probably have gotten sick 5-6 times more than I ever did at any other job.
I go to sleep at normal times and I do get enough time to rest and eat and drink plenty of water.
I’d hate to blame the customers, but all i can think is it’s the people coming in and coughing all over everything and everyone when ordering their drinks.
I just need some other opinions.

Yeah I used to get sick like once a year before working at Starbucks. I had to go to the doctor today bc I’ve had a fever, cough, headache etc since Monday. Turns out I have both the flu and ear infection. I was also sick with something similar a month ago but never got tested. It’s great.

I've worked at Starbucks locations that had a lot of customers who were traveling in from out of the country, and Starbucks locations that had a lot of people working at or visiting a hospital. Both types of locations made me sick so often. Uhg.

i started wearing my mask at work lately. last week i caught a cold & i was required to do a symptom check before working. i passed the symptom check except i was put on hot bar & i kept coughing and sneezing so they sent me home because it wasn’t worth risking the contamination..
i don’t get sick often but when i do, it hits suddenly. so im just gonna wear my mask to work from now on regardless if im sick or not tbh

Same! My whole team has been sick for the past like 3 months. We wear masks too. It’s annoying as F*-k! Idky either…

I’ve seen posts where people claim the medicine ball will cure them. So here comes the sick customers to ask for one. Sadly, some think there’s actual medicine in there.
