Even though I’m new & getting trained with the iPad at the store am I eligible to get tips 😵💫? Or do I have to be on the floor? Also I’m being trained at a different store while the new store is being built. will I earn any tips at all while I’m at my temporary store? ()

You will definitely earn tips while you are training, since your store is being built I think you will receive them from the store you are at. I do tips for my store and I know we’ve trained baristas for other stores so they sometimes get it from their home store, but since yours isn’t open yet, it should be from the store you are training at. Once you’re done with training/your new store opens you will probably have to go back to the training store to get your last tips from that store.

Also do I get reimbursement for the mile distance from this store to the new store? Until it’s done building? They told me if I were to use my car to pick up something from a different store I would receive reimbursed for the gas

policy is yes. for training if you’re required to be at another location then yes.

Oh good question, I’m not sure about that one, I’ve only ever worked at a different store once and never bothered to ask since it was really close to my home store. I know sometimes they will provide mileage when ppl cover at a different store, but I don’t believe it’s standard.

for coverage at another store it depends on the dm I think. but training is explicitly stated in the policy that it gets mileage if its at another store.

Unfortunately the policy says you do. As a barista who’s actually out on the floor and facing 300+ ppl an hour while the trainees sip their drinks and read modules, I don’t agree w that policy.
