Has anyone ever taken just straight mocha powder and steam it in some milk for a hot chocolate? Not sure if this is the sleep deprivation talking but I feel like that would be absolutely divine.

doesnt starbucks sell a hot chocolate mix that is very similar to the mocha powder??? correct me if i’m wrong but isn’t that the same thing as steaming mocha powder in milk?

Yeah, I use a similar ration with hot water at home to make mocha sauce like hours using just the Starbucks hot chocolate mix. I’m fairly certain it’s the same, if not almost the same, and just packaged differently.

I like making hot chocolate with the chocolate malt powder 😊
(and sometimes a lil hazelnut syrup for a "nutella" effect)

we don’t even have mocha powder here at my Starbucks, we use literal mocha syrup. that’s how hot chocolate is made here. a couple pumps of mocha in the cup, steam the milk & voila!
EDIT: yes, the mocha powder was used to make the mocha syrup beforehand. I just meant we don’t use mocha powder itself to make hot chocolate.

I have! When I ran out of mocha syrup! A lot of customers loved it. I put 1/2 white mocha and mocha malt powder and steamed it. They liked it better than the regular way.
