any fraps that use hot bar/full dose pumps: 1/2/2 full pumps
ex: chai cream frap gets 1/2/2 full pumps of chai
wm frap gets 1/2/2 full pumps of wm
sca frap gets 1/2/2 full pumps of sugar cookie

🙌🙌 true that, im making newer updated flashcards based on my notes from studying the bev cards but sharing on here as a discussion post too is fantastic to get ppl to have knowledge and share it as well!

Oooooooh this makes more sense than just trying to remember. Does this apply if they ask for a different syrup that has a full pump? Like hazelnut or sf vanilla?
TheGreekGazelle [OP]3 points7m ago
yes! if they get a caramel frap for example and want hazelnut added or wm added it follows 1 2 2 unless they specify how many they want (normally i ask and let them know normally what would be in their size)

Spicy opinion:
Trainers needn’t worry about teaching these recipes. Your trainees, on average, won’t retain every recipe during training. They should focus on performing the basics well and memorizing standards. Trainers should also train their trainees to use the Store Resources app to confirm information.
TheGreekGazelle [OP]2 points7m ago
i wouldnt say thats a spicy opinion! u are entirely correct

It is a great post though and I screenshotted it Hehehe
TheGreekGazelle [OP]1 points7m ago
loool we ball 😎 also is a good post for ppl who have been here for 3+ years not realizing theyre making drinks wrong and havent checked, some ppl just dont know or were taught wrong, have developed bad habits, or didnt get notified of the change
TheGreekGazelle [OP]1 points7m ago
oh yeah fs, these are the recipes i highlight to always double check if they cant remember i got em memorized cuz its been so long but ppl should definitely be trained to be comfortable with asking/checking

I’d add iced matcha, iced London fog, caramel apple spice. Awesome list!
TheGreekGazelle [OP]3 points7m ago
ooh yes caramel apple spice is somewhat uncommon so a lot of green beans dont know what it is when its ordered, iced matcha takes some experimenting to figure out putting what in first delivers the best product, and the tea lattes yeah for sure, thank you <3
Striking_Guest_93181 points7m ago
We use the foaming pitchers for iced matchas it makes it so much easier
TheGreekGazelle [OP]1 points7m ago
weve tried that too! unfortunately or cold bar is a million miles away from regular bar so its still inconvenient. ik some stores have a blender on hot bar (i wish)

Not to be a negative nancy, but if the recipes are not posted anywhere that’s easy to reference (yes I know the laminated cards are usually ummm…somewhere and the iPads have a 7-step maze to find a specific drink mix) then I’m not overly stressed about perfection. Honestly, with the sheer number of drinks and variations that we have to deal with, expecting an encyclopedic memory of all of them is unreasonable. Pay me 25 per hour? Sure thing. But not at 15/hr. Sorry for the rant…this has been a growing frustration for a while.
TheGreekGazelle [OP]1 points7m ago
i get it but it also causes people to get angry when they go to another store and the barista makes their drink to standard and the customer says it tastes wrong. this week we had a lady whos been having her coffee fraps sweetened with classic without asking, and someone who thought their matcha frap was way too sweet.
ive been trying to write the pump numbers on the pumps because everytime i put a little sticky note somewhere someone takes it down lmao, it is super frustrating because it is an inconvenience at times of rush to double check something.
i do manage to have all the drinks memorized from being here for so long and correct other baristas when they make it improperly but they respond with the “idc” “it doesnt matter” “im not paid enough to make it right lol”
but i get it, we could be much more inclusive and accommodating for ppl with memory struggles, or just learning habits different than others. another example of how sbux is unfriendly to this is that we printed and laminated a little calendar that wed update every morning with today is: 3 days from today: 5 days: 2 weeks: etc and had the shelf life of all the products around the calendar, it was taken down my our DM a month later because it cannot be in customer view… unfortunate

I get my first trainee in January and have been making sure I can answer all their questions so I am very appreciative of this post 💚
TheGreekGazelle [OP]1 points7m ago
of course!! obviously train them well on the standard drinks, these are ones u can provide them flashcards for or even just let them know these are ones they should ask about when hesitant or double check on the register/ipad. a lot of trainers forget to teach their trainee about resource usage and getting them comfortable with double checking
