Literally almost what happened at my store lol. Peak starts at that time too for my store and there was me and shift who came in at 4:30, doors open at 5, 3rd barista in at 6:30, another shift and barista in at 7.....only shift came because barista called out. I left at 10:15 so it was 3 of them til 12. We almost died. Had a lot of orders today..super busy but most of them had several drinks in their orders. 11 drink order placed in store. Another 6 drink order placed in store. Then someone ordered 7 grande pikes i guess for their work crew. It kept going and going in just large numbers of drinks per order 😭

Edit to add: but yea, no, fck this many travelers at 7am lol 😐

apparently it took an hour just to brew the coffee let alone set the travelers up😭😭

You know you can turn those off under item availability...just saying.

its a cafe order, not a mobile

I thought you were supposed to need a 24 hour notice before making travelers? I remember being told that during training. That was like 4 years ago tho

Yeah, we'd tell customers that anything over two travellers needed advance notice, but we'd upsell and ask about pastries and whatnot too, after one person ordered 30 pastries all toasted when they came to get the traveler (a singular one...).

But it was an old location with an older clientele mostly, so they were pretty good about calling in orders for the next day. We'd take any large, easy order over the phone tbh, like someone wanting a ridiculous amount of one food item

I don’t even know the number of people you’d need to drink 10 travelers

It seems more cost effective to buy a plug in coffee urn at that point

Next time leave the lids on loose and ask where they’re going and recommend a short cut (back streets with speed bumps)
