If you work at my store and see this, please pretend you didnt. Im so embarrassed that it's come this far.
So, i work at a very busy licensed store. Our store has three closers in total. Two of us are just regular baristas and the third is the manager. we frequently work 8/9 hour shifts with just two people, and rarely do we get breaks. (Unfortunately i live in a state where its not illegal for us to not get breaks of any sort).
Our morning shift has around 9 people, plus a manager, and often around 5-8 people working every morning. They also all get paid more than us night shift people. The problem is, they refuse to do any sort of restocking before they leave, at all. MAYBE they'll restock some cups or make ONE lemonade. And so every day, i have to come in and restock every single item in the store while also making cold brew, running register, running bar, all at once. it's extremely hard on me and its hard on my body. I begged both managers to talk to morning shift to please restock the store, even if one person does one task each it'd be 500% more than what they do currently, with more staff and better pay.
My morning shift manager wrote a note for them, saying they need to restock stuff before they leave, and signed his name at the bottom. This morning i came in and all the morning shift was huddled around the register, whispering and glaring at me. The note from the manager was ripped up. Nothing was restocked. apparently, the morning manager told everyone i "threw a fit" and was "extremely pissed" at them. He also insinuated that he didn't write the note, that it was ME who wrote it. I'm so frustrated i cried. i have no idea what to do, i think i have to transfer to a different store, no one is helping me and im so tired. I have a physical disability too and my health has never been worse.
