besties who have enrolled in benefits before (i’m talking insurance), I need help.

I know that we have to have 520 hours by the cutoff date (dec 23 or 30), do I still need to hit the 520 hours if I am enrolling for the first time? this may be confusing, but I was hired in December 2021, I became eligible for benefits in April or May. I didn’t enroll because I’m still on my parents insurance, but as of January 1st I have to get my own. so if I am enrolling for the first time, is it still a requirement to meet the 520 hours?

I’m literally going to be 30 hours shy 🥲

I think you need 520 hours by December 18th or 25th depending on your pay cycle. From what I understand, you earn initial benefits eligibility 3 months after employment, and then it’s the 6 month audit after that. You should probably call PCC to ask for clarification.

I thought January around the first week was the deadline for audit?

yes since this isn’t considered enrolling within your 3 month mark, you will still be required to have 520 hours.

I’m gonna be shy hours too and I’m honestly gonna say fuck it.

If you do end up losing insurance form your parents. I would hold off until you’re completely dropped from your parents. You can try to apply to insurance under the guise of life changing events.

I thought the audit was in January, and if you don’t make it, your insurance will fall out by April.
