if they ask for the barbie drink, and then when saying you need the recipe if they ask for a vanilla cream, its a vanilla bean cream frap, not a vanilla steamed milk or a vsccb. so many tiktoks on it are calling it a vanilla cream.
TRoseee217 points7m ago
If they ask for something called a Barbie drink and can’t tell me the recipe imma say we don’t know what that is.
clouds183 [OP]-13 points7m ago
they can tell you the recipe, they’re just going to start off on the wrong drink, so I’m informing you now that they’re calling the vanilla bean frap a vanilla cream.
TRoseee74 points7m ago
We’ll then that’s on them. Imma make them what they ask for.
clouds183 [OP]28 points7m ago
kk just trying to save you the hastle of having to remake it several times trying to find out what they actually want
Traditional-Emu-14031 points7m ago
If they told me the wrong thing, they’ll pay for the remake, I’m not remaking something that followed instructions properly
somewheredaydreaming23 points7m ago
Literally this. My mentality is I make you what you ordered and if it's not what you wanted then we can discuss those changes at pass off and I can teach you how to order it right for next time. It's a learning moment but I'm not going to babysit at the register.
dnims247 points7m ago
This happened to me recently. I even confirmed it with her like do you want an iced drink or a blended Frappuccino and she told me iced but when she pulled up tried to tell me it was wrong lol
Ordinary-Theory-8289100 points7m ago
They’ll get what they order. I’m not playing mind games
clouds183 [OP]-29 points7m ago
kk then have fun remaking it several times
Hazel_is_Trans77 points7m ago
We don’t get paid enough for this shit
clouds183 [OP]20 points7m ago
I agree! just trying to save you from being yelled at by a customer because they ordered the wrong thing and want it remade several times
paraxutebrain2 points7m ago
I find it fun, if it’s not busy at least. Like if you laugh and make jokes / if the customer is cool.
We had a guy come through the drive thru to order it for his kid, we had 0 clue what he was talking about & he came inside. The next day his partner/daughters mom came in with her and got another. And the kid was so stinkin sweet. And SO excited for her nasty ahh Barbie drink
Y’all tried it?? Jfc
paolathepanda54 points7m ago
Yessss!!! I tried telling a customer a vanilla creme is a hot drink and that they might be actually wanting a iced blended vanilla bean frappuccino and they told me no 🙃 so I told them I literally had someone ask for the same drink 10 min ago I'm sure it iced blended and not hot. She ended up getting the vanilla bean but geez she didn't like being told what the drink really was. I truly despise whoever put that incorrect recipe online..
throwaway282527231 points7m ago
if someone asks me for a barbie drink , i don’t know what it is . if they have a recipe , cool . but i’m not going to go out my way to learn what they want . if it’s not a standard menu drink , i don’t get paid to learn tiktok drinks so that’s a no for me .
clouds183 [OP]2 points7m ago
the recepie they’ve been giving on tiktok starts with a vanilla cream, but I’m telling you that they mean the vanilla bean frap, not the hot steamed milk. they can tell you the recipe themselves but they might start off wrong. just letting you know.
Twitter_Twatter28 points7m ago
It’s not our job to memorize drinks that aren’t in the menu. If they order wrong, that’s on them.
clouds183 [OP]4 points7m ago
true, I’m not asking you to memorize drinks that aren’t on the menu. I’m letting you know they may ask for a vanilla cream and they mean the vanilla bean cream frap. not a vanilla steamed milk. they can tell you the rest of the recipe. just trying to start you off on the right food.
Twitter_Twatter31 points7m ago
My partner in Christ, if they are going to order something stupid and wrong, that is on them. Not us.
clouds183 [OP]9 points7m ago
right, but as partners we are trained to remake it until the customer is happy with it. I’d much rather start off on the right drink than have to remake it so many times trying to figure out they wanted a frap. so sorry for wanting to help you.
Twitter_Twatter4 points7m ago
I had to look up what this thing is supposed to look like. If a partner is assuming a customer would actually want a vanilla crème with dragon fruit pieces then that’s on the partner, register or bar, for not clarifying. That could easily be caught and fixed before they ever got the wrong thing.
verdeuce23 points7m ago
Idk why people are being so confrontational. You’re trying to make our lives easier and partners are being so closed minded and difficult, for what? The sake of being difficult? Were any of these people around for the craft training where we reviewed customer service? Guess not

sorry but I match energy around here!
verdeuce6 points7m ago
I don’t blame them for being frustrated. They posted this to be helpful and people lash out back rather than say hey thanks for the tip! I’d snap back too
violaaesthetic19 points7m ago
Thanks for the warning, OP. Sorry you’re getting flack for trying to help us
gingergal-n-dog1 points7m ago
If they show you the picture it's clearly a vbfrap base drink
violaaesthetic5 points7m ago
Dang you’re right that’s probably why OP was talking about when they’re ordering it verbally like in the drive thru for instance
clouds183 [OP]4 points7m ago
right, but without the picture we don’t know! and with the amount of partners who don’t want to watch a tiktok for it and make the customers read it to you, it’s worth the heads up!
star_pants15 points7m ago
I'm not going to remember this. While I appreciate the effort I have enough to remember in work and my own life than to start remembering tiktok drinks that might be ordered wrong
clouds183 [OP]7 points7m ago
I agree. but I was told this by my coworker and then the very next day someone tried to order it as a vanilla cream. so it might be helpful to some. just trying to help is all.
-Zispy7 points7m ago
I know you’re trying to help, but this will just feed into the customers being babied and entitled. What if they order it again the wrong way?
alexkerie2 points7m ago
especially at a different store. i refuse to be a part of *that* store that always lets customers get their way when they’re wrong and complain to other locations saying “oh well the store on ——— always does it right for me!”
Traditional-Emu-14037 points7m ago
They’ll get what they order. Tell them the recipe over in the Starbucks subreddit, we’re not here to memorize their “secret menu” for them
clouds183 [OP]4 points7m ago
again, I’m not telling you a recipe. they just start off on the wrong drink by calling a vanilla frap a vanilla cream. they can tell you the recipe themselves.
Boring_Peace_6757 points7m ago
Thank you for the heads up OP.
BatWeary4 points7m ago
why is it so difficult for people to order off the menu
uh-no-why3 points7m ago
Thanks for the heads up!
nicolelynnejones3 points7m ago
Idk why you’re getting downvoted so much. Yeah the customer is totally at fault here but you’re just trying to save other partners the trouble of deciphering or remaking it a billion times.
trousersquid3 points7m ago
Someone just tried to order it as a 'Vanilla Caramel' yesterday... Didn't realize it was such a widespread cluster 🙃
clouds183 [OP]1 points7m ago
yeah! just trying to ease the confusion around it!
trousersquid1 points7m ago
Wish I'd seen this before my shift yesterday 😅
oshian_3 points7m ago
why are they calling it something else when it already has a name 😭
clouds183 [OP]2 points7m ago
no the full recipe has modifications, its like raspberry and dragonfruit inclusions and some other things. they just start the order by asking for a vanilla cream, but they mean a vanilla bean frap and not the steamed milk.
oshian_1 points7m ago
putting all that in a steamed milk would be disgusting lmao, thanks for letting us know
Independent-Arm-6422 points7m ago
Ohhh is this the one with the mango dragon fruit pieces? I had someone order it but not say Barbie drink, they were saying the vanilla steamer with mango inclusions to me and I was like “uhhh okie, are you sure you want the vanilla steamer?” 😂 the look they gave me when they saw it was hot, remade it and clarified to them next time to say vanilla bean and not vanilla steamer
dxdewhxt2 points7m ago
this just happened to me twice my shift today! honestly so glad i came across this post earlier or it would’ve taken ages to understand them… thank you!
sidebirb2 points7m ago
so glad i read this cause someone showed me it and i wouldn’t have known it was vanilla bean if not for this post thank u
floofxs22 points7m ago
It’s just a vanilla bean frap? Why the 🤬 are they calling it a Barbie drink?
alexkerie2 points7m ago
i’ve seen a bunch of the tiktoks for it and it’s a vanilla bean frap with dragonfruit inclusions *(both blended in and on top of the whip)* with vanilla and raspberry syrup.
and i’ve already made a bunch of comments on some tiktoks to make sure **customers** know how to order it. but if i’m on the clock, i’m not gonna assume what people want. i’m not here to be a mind reader and/nor keep up with trends on an app with more than 1B creators
helloweirdone22 points7m ago
Lolol someone ordered it like a pink drink with half and half the other day, i didn’t correct them
HarpieLady131 points7m ago
I had someone’s order ready to go when they pulled up to the window, then they asked to change one of their drinks to the Barbie drink and pulled out that stupid recipe.🙄🙄 like, of all things to add on at the window.
throwawaieaccount6191 points7m ago
um chile anyways so if they tell me the wrong thing and can’t tell me what they actually want, they’ll get what they get. or just ask for a damn vanilla bean cream frap. it’s not that deep. what does barbie have in correlation to that drink anyway??? makes no sense.
