my store has only 2 night shift supervisors — me and one other person. every shift meeting, it’s just the two of us getting constantly shit on, even though the morning and mid shift supervisors also do the same things all the time. if the night crew doesn’t overstock the restock, we get yelled at and told we need to, but the morning and mids get slack for not overstocking it because they’re busier, but it’s like sometimes, we’re busy too. they don’t believe we’re that busy because of the amount of customers that come during the night vs the mornings/mids, but they don’t ever seem to think about how we have less partners on the floor at night than there are mornings/mids. My SM even lied to my face and was like “nights have the same amount of people working as mids” which is absolutely not true. The mids have 6-7 partners on the floor. Nights have 3 baristas and a shift supervisor. My SM and the morning shifts have started to blame the night crew for them going through the entire restock in the morning because they’re using so much of the product. When that happens, they tell our SM that we didn’t even do the restock. Which is absurd, because every time that happened I specifically double checked that the restock was good. The other night shift and I get several talkings to about and warnings that we could get written up because we adjust the deposit so much at night, when we’re adjusting the deposit so much because we have to fix the morning/mid shift’s mistakes. I’m so tired of it. My SM is also just openly friendlier to the morning shifts. The difference between how she talks to me and the other night shift compared to the morning shifts is so very apparently biased.
Edit: Not to mention that the night crew typically consists of green beans that need a lot of coaching.
