Help being a newbie and keeping positive (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by jelliepuppie
I’m a new green bean and have been having trouble keeping a good mindset about not knowing how to do things and feeling like a burden, especially during rushes, and it’s been causing me to really dread coming in to work. I’m normally pretty good about shooing the bad thoughts away, but since starting it’s become pretty difficult.
Does this phase really go away eventually? And is there any advice anyone can give me to help me ease through it? I really do want to like this job so any advice is appreciated :,)

give it time. i always tell my green beans if you can make it past 3 months your gonna be fine. and never feel bad asking questions thats the only way you learn and if anyone gives you attitude when you ask something tell your SM cause their not a team player. it seems like alot and some of it is but as time passes youll be able to do this job in your sleep. trust me after 8 years most days im on auto pilot. if you ever need any advice or have questions feel free to DM me. ive been a shift for the 5 years of my 8. so ive seen everything lol
