is this not how they look normally? a quick rinse cleans them super easily. I’m confused at what this is supposed to be about.

💀 dawg they normally look caked in residue
frankenstein105 54 points 7m ago
c.. caked in residue? do you mean like after a long day and at the end of the day they’re washed? Cause with a rinse of water it won’t look caked in residue

I don't mean to sound rude but...do the baristas at your store not actually scrub the dishes and just throw dirty dishes in the dishwasher?

I only ask because that's what happens a lot at my store. So on any day I'm not doing some CS, things sometimes look a bit ugly.

it’s so maddening bc i’m one of 2 baristas that actually scrubs residue off dishes. everyone else just barely sprays them off and throw em into the hobart.

meaning that when i get put on cs once every 2 weeks i have to scrub the shit out of the dishes bc there’s a film that’s been building up… and it makes my shifts mad bc i take so long to do dishes but it’s disgusting making prep in nasty, crusty containers.

Excuse me? My stores shot glasses are rinsed multiple a day, it doesn’t take any effort to push it over the pitcher rinser.
HypnoticPeaches 3 points 7m ago
I hope they moreso mean the outside of the shot glass, which, yeah, can get pretty gross and sticky by the end of peak or whatever. I would hope people are rinsing them regularly on bar… I try and do it every time I’m done with it, unless I have to pull into it immediately again.

I may not believe in a shot “dying” or whatever, but I absolutely believe the coffee oils and residue start to get a little gross when exposed to air in a thin layer like it does on a used shot glass.

What do they normally look like? 😳
looker009 29 points 7m ago
How lazy are your partners that they do not get them to look like that every night?
vg_1495 23 points 7m ago
Do you not wash yours regularly along with the espresso machines when you close…???
clouds183 20 points 7m ago
or yk every 4 hours with all other small wares
sadlyliss 16 points 7m ago
i think i get what you mean by "residue" but correct me if i'm wrong!
our shot glasses tend to get.... foggy. and they get a brown hue to them when they're not properly washed. usually i go out of my way to wipe them down and properly clean them cus im very picky about my shot glasses but maybe that's what you mean by residue?

Would have loved to see the before picture 😭 you can easily get them to look like this throughout the day by using the pitcher rinser and wiping the outside with a cloth

I love how we’re all so proud of clean dishes..like abused children who get a hug 😂😂
Superduperfreddy 9 points 7m ago

marigshu 8 points 7m ago
This is how they’re supposed to look my guy
SoCalAsian900 7 points 7m ago
That's how they should look when doing dishes 🤔 Kinda nervous to think what they looked like before
CalculatedAF 1 points 7m ago
judging by the comments here i’m personally kinda horrified. i’ll get a picture of them when i go in next, there’s only two people who clean them properly and that’s me and my co worker sydney
mstuver15 5 points 7m ago
