New hack people are doing (i.redd.it)
submitted by Hazel_is_Trans
Low_Analysis3195 880 points 7m ago
no.
Hazel_is_Trans [OP] 169 points 7m ago
Agreed
Responsible_Snow7109 564 points 7m ago
Why would the article thing tell them to ask the barista to take multiple steps to do this when the customer can simply ask for any utensils to do this on their own? We are not a deli or a diner. We dont cook/assemble foods. We simply heat them up.
Hazel_is_Trans [OP] 124 points 7m ago
It’s a Facebook/instagram food hack ad that popped up
urlessies 59 points 7m ago
always the facebook “hacks” smh
Responsible_Snow7109 40 points 7m ago
Why does social media call everything a hack Lol jeeez
maine_coon2123 13 points 7m ago
I know I hate this word
sashiyaki 487 points 7m ago
Ask for a butter croissant, egg bites extra toasted, and a knife.
Hazel_is_Trans [OP] 316 points 7m ago
If they ask me to assemble it I’m saying no
sashiyaki 70 points 7m ago
Oh 100%
wheres_mayramaines 37 points 7m ago
As a customer, I would loudly complain if I heard another customer ask for this. Why would you ask the barista to put food BACK in the oven that you've ALREADY TOUCHED. Ewww no thanks.
I'd write corporate
rlogranite 17 points 7m ago
Food does not go back in the oven once it's handed to a customer. Never!!
Distinct-Apartment39 3 points 7m ago
I haven’t worked for the company in a little while. But if I remember correctly this was actually not allowed (at least at my store) we could take off whatever from a sandwich. But we can not DIY you your own sandwich from 6 different items. You could order them and build it yourself but my manager always said we cannot and will not put xyz on a bacon Gouda
cecicoot 55 points 7m ago
Oh I would do this with my partner markouts. But I would slice the croissant down the center before toasting it so that it got crispy in the middle too
7beforeminutes5 42 points 7m ago
Had a customer once ask me to slice a croissant in half and toast it and when I did it she looked at me strange and took her drink and left.

After all this time I just realized she wanted it in half horizontally not vertically. This shall proceed to haunt me for at least the next 3 nights lol
Dr_mombie 17 points 7m ago
You get an A+ for malicious compliance.
Electrical_Metal_106 8 points 7m ago
My friend always slices sandwiches the long way. 😂 This will definitely teach them not to ask next time.
laughingashley 5 points 7m ago
That's hilarious if she was sharing it with someone and was like... you can have the bottom
dallizzlee 3 points 7m ago
We do a lot of things with our partner markouts that customers can’t do haha
kittietoof 160 points 7m ago
please dear god stop them
Hazel_is_Trans [OP] 22 points 7m ago
This was on Facebook
kittietoof 17 points 7m ago
oh no
MoonCatlol 14 points 7m ago
All of the Karens 😭😭 jkjk
kittietoof 6 points 7m ago
you’re not wrong 😭
grannysdingleberries 149 points 7m ago

Hazel_is_Trans [OP] 26 points 7m ago
Same
Binx_da_gay_cat 19 points 7m ago
I'm sorry but your username made me lol so much!
dontcry2022 126 points 7m ago
Pretty sure we aren't even allowed to do that for them
Hazel_is_Trans [OP] 47 points 7m ago
Correct
iklno 14 points 7m ago
louder for the Facebooks in the back
filmphotographywhore 120 points 7m ago
I wouldn’t mind if they ordered these separately and did it themselves, but I’ll be damned if they think me or any of my fellow partners should do it. This is just *time consuming* and *very unnecessary* for everyone
ruffemmup 111 points 7m ago
If you’re a super special customer, baristas might even chew it up and spit in your mouth for you!
niftyynifflerr 9 points 7m ago
For FREE? In THIS economy? There's a premium for that kind of special treatment.
Ripyamsripchip 4 points 7m ago
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Cheedanish 102 points 7m ago
Sounds delicious! Do it yourself <3
Hazel_is_Trans [OP] 28 points 7m ago
Here’s a knife
darkwolf523 1 points 7m ago
*hands knife*
No_Tip4841 90 points 7m ago
No I’ll make both of them and give them to you separately. I’ll even give you a knife to cut it and do it yourself. ❤️
PunishedTitan 42 points 7m ago
As a partner, I used to love cutting open a croissant and using the cheese and meat trays to put inside of them heated. Egg bites on cream cheese bagels are also good. That being said, they can do that on their own time
awesomechief989 4 points 7m ago
I did this with bagels… discontinued
chinfox 40 points 7m ago
bitch this is not a restaurant PLEASE go to mcdonals
MLGTheForkOnTheLeft 38 points 7m ago
“Sorry but I’m afraid according to starbucks we are not allowed to touch your food with our fingers, even with gloves on. Have a good day.”
AAA_Morningstar 34 points 7m ago
I don’t know how stores are doing this because I was literally told by the gm we aren’t allowed to modify food except when taking something like cheese, egg, or meat off of the breakfast sandwiches.
AAA_Morningstar 19 points 7m ago
But low key, ham and Swiss on baguette with 2 packets of honey and one sriracha, ideally between the cheese and top bun, cooked in with the sandwich.. literally the most amazing thing ever.. ☺️🖤🏳️‍⚧️
Hazel_is_Trans [OP] 9 points 7m ago
All this food talk makes me hungry and want to try this
AAA_Morningstar 6 points 7m ago
It was suggested by another partner from a different store I was helping out at. I’ve been eating it like that ever since. I know you’ll love it ☺️
Righman0nly 30 points 7m ago
“Unfortunately I cannot under cook our egg bites as it is a food safety hazard”
awesomechief989 11 points 7m ago
I thought I was the only person thinking they’d be hella undercooked 😭😭
feisty314 0 points 7m ago
The egg bites are actually already fully cooked - that's why they're called sous vide egg bites, it's a way of cooking them in their plastic. Then like everything else, we just heat them up. Otherwise we'd have to have special tongs for putting raw egg bites into the oven and different ones for taking them out.

But I'm totally fine if you want to use that excuse for customers.
Software_More 27 points 7m ago
You’re a loser if you make this for anyone besides yourself or another partner on break. It’s a barista hack, not a hack for the people! 🙅🏾‍♂️🙅🏾‍♂️
Hazel_is_Trans [OP] 13 points 7m ago
Grilled cheese with bacon uggg
Software_More 10 points 7m ago
Take a sausage egg and cheddar then place contents inside of a grilled cheese… 🤤
PM_your-pickles 25 points 7m ago
Nope. This is against standard. We cant serve food thats not cooked to standard. Its a liability. Give them a knife, a croissant, and regularly cooked egg bites and ask them to do it.

**It is 100% against policy to serve food like this**
unfortunate_xD 6 points 7m ago
THIS needs to be boosted to the top
DoJoToCo 19 points 7m ago
“Here’s a knife”
Markedsoultheif 18 points 7m ago
We don’t have the proper licenses to be assembling food for people
Hazel_is_Trans [OP] 15 points 7m ago
For ourselves yes for the children no
SNES182 17 points 7m ago
Yeah. I’m not cooking your food twice. Those oven times are already fucked.
theindyjan 6 points 7m ago
Yes, but three more steps down the line I’m gonna have you cook it some more. 🙃
mileygirl08 16 points 7m ago
STOP I DO THIS EVERYDAY FOR LUNCH
mileygirl08 16 points 7m ago
but I fucking manhandle my food so idk what the customers want to see
iqueefkief 16 points 7m ago
i’ll hack my fucking hands off
RoccoSteal 16 points 7m ago
LOL.
Immediately
#NO.
thebestdaysofmyflerm 16 points 7m ago
Would 10 seconds plus the croissant setting even be enough to fully heat up the egg bites? Sounds nasty.
Hazel_is_Trans [OP] 4 points 7m ago
Yep
tricializ1 14 points 7m ago
Or….go to BK and get a Bacon egg and cheese croissandwich. For like 2 dollars.
Have_Donut 12 points 7m ago
Nope. Food safety violation. We do not have the utensils to prep food.
nousername1007 11 points 7m ago
what kind of establishment do these people think Starbucks is
tempehtemptress 11 points 7m ago
not a single fucking soul is doing any of that for anybody LMFAO these people are crazy
uwumoment 11 points 7m ago
why do these ads always say “your starbucks barista” ... ask THE starbucks barista.
Hazel_is_Trans [OP] 8 points 7m ago
I always have a feeling it’s an ex barista with a grudge against us and want to make our jobs harder
merpopular 10 points 7m ago
That’s like when people ask me to put their cream cheese on their bagels. I’m like no
MK2730 10 points 7m ago
It’s time to STOP
leopardsocks 9 points 7m ago
100% love that we are all united on this. no <3
Purple_Coffee653 9 points 7m ago
Order a butter croissant and bacon egg bites as normal, ask for a knife, grab a napkin, and do it your freaking self
HintonsCorner 9 points 7m ago
………… that’s going to be a smooth no for me. Starbucks customers are literally the most entitled people on this earth.
mybest34s 9 points 7m ago
No one’s doing all that
AdmiralRay 8 points 7m ago
I don't work for Starbucks, but am a former waiter and bartender. Are your customers actively looking for ways to waste your time?
Hazel_is_Trans [OP] 5 points 7m ago
Yep
kaleiydo 8 points 7m ago
that’s like $9 for anyone wondering
Hazel_is_Trans [OP] 5 points 7m ago
“Free” for us
Bubbly-Equivalent-97 8 points 7m ago
This actually sounds so good
Hazel_is_Trans [OP] 17 points 7m ago
It dose but we can’t make it for customers we can make it for ourselves
Bubbly-Equivalent-97 3 points 7m ago
Yeah no, we don’t have time for that 😂
Quizzis 7 points 7m ago
Mmm ice egg popsicle in a soggy croissant. And now all the baristas hate you too!!
eliettgrace 7 points 7m ago
no ma’am this ain’t subway
champshere 7 points 7m ago
Want me to chew it up for you too?
Traditional-Emu-1403 7 points 7m ago
Yeah I’m not doing that. You can have egg bites and you can have a croissant. Go home and do it yourself.
Hazel_is_Trans [OP] 4 points 7m ago
Here’s a knife
Kivic 7 points 7m ago
Automatic no lol
Hazel_is_Trans [OP] 6 points 7m ago
Here’s a knife
megs1288 7 points 7m ago
Yes and the. People will get mad when they have to wait for their food
Scaredysquirrel 7 points 7m ago
Seems like a pretty expensive breakfast.
Hazel_is_Trans [OP] 8 points 7m ago
It’s starbie they have the money
PointEither2673 7 points 7m ago
The smile that’s gone be on my face when I tell them “ no “🙂
snailsdotcom 6 points 7m ago
i hate when stuff trends that’s not even something we do 🫠
Peace2Theaworld 6 points 7m ago
Sir this is a Starbucks. This isn't a fucking restaurant
Financial_Hand3685 6 points 7m ago
Um no
rudebii 6 points 7m ago
I remember we’d have customers ask us to slice their bagels and spread the cream cheese for them. Lol, not a chance.
Enough_Raise_7167 7 points 7m ago
You don't have to slice your bagels?? I had someone ask if we could put the cream cheese on for them. No, sweetie. That's something you're fully capable of doing yourself.
rudebii 4 points 7m ago
We could slice the bagels. we had a bread knife back in the day and sliced some pastries into individual portions, like the pound cakes.

But no, we didn’t have to spread cream cheese for custies, lol. We just put the cup of cream cheese and and a flimsy knife that will almost certainly break before you’re finished in a pastry bag with the bagel.

We didn’t have ovens either, so we got to disappoint customers everyday when they’d ask for the bagel toasted.
Enough_Raise_7167 3 points 7m ago
I wish we didn't have ovens 😭
rudebii 4 points 7m ago
No ovens, and they were just starting to build drive-thrus when I left.

I mean shit, when I started there were only 4 fraps, except for seasonal ones.

No stars, no loyalty program. Customers would constantly ask why we didn’t have punch cards, we’d say “we’d rather not have to bribe you for your loyalty.”

We scooped beans out of bins to order. When you walked into a store it smelled of coffee, not egg bites and greasy reheated sandwiches. That mattered to corporate.

A very different experience in the 90s-00s. The beans were still hella burnt, but that’s a second wave thing.
StellarOdyssey96 6 points 7m ago
Those egg bites are gonna be cold in the middle 😂
xthefabledfox 6 points 7m ago
I will not be doing this
plantsfkn 6 points 7m ago
I will not be doing that
bobloblawslawblogcom 5 points 7m ago
So…a double smoked bacon sandwich
StormTheParade 1 points 7m ago
yeah but minus the best parts!
Psychological_Box808 5 points 7m ago
That is way too much to have a barista do. They are so busy I would be embarrassed to ask them to do all of that. But I would get both and so it myself it does sound good.
vanilllacakez 5 points 7m ago
Um no. How would the egg bites even be fully heated ? Them hoes take a full min or something
Decent_Macaron3444 5 points 7m ago
id reject. im not taking back food that someone touched lol
BigDillLadyPickle 5 points 7m ago
Absolutely the fuck not. I will give them to you separately and you will do it yourself. I don't get paid enough for that shit.
jordanshaw89 5 points 7m ago
Yeah that’s a big fat NO from me and the Health department. We are barely allowed to heat food with the food handlers license, let alone actual food prep!! Agree with others, they can ask for a knife and do it themself
Late_Pomelo_999 5 points 7m ago
Nope
Assiqtaq 5 points 7m ago
Once you have touched the food with your bare hands it will not be going back over the counter, nor in my oven. So nope, sorry.
Lesbeanteacherlifts 5 points 7m ago
Nope I’d never assemble that contraption for a customer
ktfuelling 5 points 7m ago
Nope
Hazel_is_Trans [OP] 5 points 7m ago
Here’s a knife
yayannapav 5 points 7m ago
Wouldn’t the egg bites not be fully warmed then?
Hazel_is_Trans [OP] 8 points 7m ago
Correct
linseeded 5 points 7m ago
No
misaruwu 4 points 7m ago
Starbucks doesn’t have a food handling license so we legally do NOT have to do this, in fact it is more illegal than it is legal to
fregretcha 4 points 7m ago
As a customer I might order both things, but put it together myself. That’s not cool to do to the baristas.
Snowbunny_02 4 points 7m ago
Well ummm we can’t even take it back after they’ve touched it it’s policy lol
adorkablysporktastic 4 points 7m ago
That's a really expensive "hack".
HealthyCommand8866 4 points 7m ago
✨absolutely not✨
thechamelioncircuit 4 points 7m ago
Oof we are 100% not allowed to do that.
dayahorne 4 points 7m ago
So we don't have knives
bevoftw 4 points 7m ago
yeah no im not doing this lolll
KnightlyStars 4 points 7m ago
I will never do this. They will have to hand me personally $20 before I do this
Hurk_Burlap 4 points 7m ago
People don't realise we aren't algorithms and can actually think about the fact that something is against standard
smileysmile2001 4 points 7m ago
Yo I used to work at Starbucks and if anyone ever asked me to do that I would politely decline. Fuck anyone who thinks this is a good or ethical idea.
JustKam347 4 points 7m ago
Maybe if we could use our gloves instead of long ass tongs and not being to touch the food in anyway we could!
Hazel_is_Trans [OP] 5 points 7m ago
We can’t anyways
JustKam347 4 points 7m ago
Be even then, still no lol cause fuc that
aspiringgrandpa 3 points 7m ago
new request i can refuse 🤪
ayakowantsmemes 3 points 7m ago
That sounds like a ✨Health Safety Violation ✨
peanutcurd 3 points 7m ago
i will Not be doing this ❤️ i think if a customer asked me to do all that for a wack ass $9 croissant when there’s a dunkin literally 200 feet away i would combust
Torirock10 3 points 7m ago
i’m not doing that shit 😭
JRegerWVOH 3 points 7m ago
So we’re Burger King now?
wittyroses 3 points 7m ago
I will not be doing this
jams1015 3 points 7m ago
nuh uh.

So, quick question: Are the majority of hacks meant to make guests ask for silly things and wear egg on their face? Why are other customers and TikTok baristas setting guests up to look like idiots? They would 100% be denied at my store, in the snottiest way.... "Um, no." (immediate headset entitlement bashing and hatred heap on unassuming guest, they'd be shunned and hated forevermore and have no idea!).

They'd be served a double-toasted cwassont and an order of egg bites and encouraged to frankenstein the two in their own time, but no one is volunteering to ruin two breakfast items in one smush. You will always have to create your own monster, customers.
_luckybell_ 3 points 7m ago
Also like only 10 seconds for the first cook? those eggs bites r gonna be cold Lol
advocateforcocaine 3 points 7m ago
forget all of the breaking of standard, the worst part about this is that you could get the exact thing but so much better literally anywhere else… like stop idolizing our food babe it was frozen a few hours ago 😭 go home and crack an egg open touch some grass i am begging u
advocateforcocaine 3 points 7m ago
but will i as a partner utilize my markouts and try this exact recipe tmr? yes. yes i will.
majik_rose 3 points 7m ago
The fact this has been posted twice scares me
nightimevil 3 points 7m ago
Yeah, I'm pretty sure we're not allowed to do this. We can cook everything and give you a knife, but that's it.
hautsause 3 points 7m ago
I used to do a croissant and bacon egg bites with the sriracha and avocado spread. Chefs kiss.
Butterflybo0ty 3 points 7m ago
Glad I no longer work at Starbucks. Telling people no at my location was no easy thing
alanameowmeow 3 points 7m ago
It’s not a hack. It’s just annoying your barista
icanseeyourenuts 3 points 7m ago
And your barista will hate you. Decaf you for life
BlondeBreveHC 3 points 7m ago
And we will never do this for you, EVER
IndustrySerious 3 points 7m ago
Someone asked me if I could scoop the bread out of the bagel and put cream cheese on it. I said no but I can give you a knife and the cream cheese. Another person asked if they could get a sausage egg and cheese but if I could replace the bread with croissants! What is wrong with people?
MiciusPorcius 3 points 7m ago
Jeez just go to denny’s
PortionOfSunshine 3 points 7m ago
One day, on a sudden store closure, I took the impossible patty, kale egg bites, two croissants and sriracha. Take the end off the croissant and make a pocket. Cut the bites and patty into small pieces and stuff the croissants while layering said pieces with the sriracha. Fucking heaven. I still sometimes stuff a croissant with just egg bites.
cailey001 3 points 7m ago
Pretty sure we can legally get in trouble for doing this for a customer. Starbucks as a company and each individual store does NOT have a license to prepare food. Thats part of the reason why customers have to spread their own cream cheese on the bagels. We can only warm food already made.
tourniquette2 3 points 7m ago
I don’t think we’re supposed to be cutting food and putting it together for people like this. We can make them separately and they can cut it up and make their breakfast croissant. But this isn’t much of a hack because we’re not supposed to be doing it at all.
Icky138 3 points 7m ago
sorry i can’t do all this with tongs only.
Vincent_Cromwell27 3 points 7m ago
We can’t even reheat food normally lol
hadeschilddd 3 points 7m ago
Ya know ive thought to do this myself but it's too many steps ;A;
Aliciarox11189 3 points 7m ago
I eat it on a bagel
ryannmm5 3 points 7m ago
absolutely not
CobaltLemon 3 points 7m ago
We don't have food handler permits. Sorry.
atticpanic 3 points 7m ago
subway who????? 💀
3aTroop 3 points 7m ago
Who? Who is doing this?
Hazel_is_Trans [OP] 3 points 7m ago
Facebook:instagram
ElderberryFew666 3 points 7m ago
This is abominable
CryptographerPure327 2 points 7m ago
That’s funny, you get a knife and a smile, I’m a barista not a chef.
britheteenagewitch 2 points 7m ago
absolutely not
Psychological-Tax543 2 points 7m ago
Any custy who wants to do this might as well just turn in their application and do it themselves. That’s too much for the measly pay baristas get
Chemical_Currency_15 2 points 7m ago
Nope I refuse. I can warm both items like normal and you can grab a knife from the hand off area. Bye.
Terry_Jean 2 points 7m ago
We will NOT do that🤦🏻‍♀️
Same-Introduction-70 2 points 7m ago
Dude if you’re so thirsty for this “hack” literally just get a double smoked bacon sandwich. It’s the s a m e.
miahanoi 2 points 7m ago
We’re not allowed to assemble items like that
Affectionate-Raise21 2 points 7m ago
when i was a partner i kinda did this but ONLY for myself. open face double toasted croissant, egg bites in an oatmeal bowl with a whole packet of sriracha, shake it around, smear the egg paste on a croissant. so good
dcoul27 2 points 7m ago
Technically against food safety standards for us to do any food prep like this, so if customers get angry when told they can do it themselves, simply say it is against our policies and we cannot do it :) for the same reason we don’t butter their bagels for them!
rlogranite 2 points 7m ago
Do not ask your barista to do that shit!!
-IzTheWiz- 2 points 7m ago
"sorry were not allowed to combine food items but ill gladly heat up some egg bites and a butter croissant for you"
AuntieRia1128 2 points 7m ago
Absolutely not.
Deadrax502 2 points 7m ago
If someone asks me for this I’m blaming you
catbeetle 2 points 7m ago
Ugh
august401 2 points 7m ago
i quit starbucks 4 weeks ago and i'm so mad i never tried this while i was on break
Ivy00poison 2 points 7m ago
I would never do this for a customer . Not sorry 🤷🏼‍♀️
majik_rose 2 points 7m ago
Absolutely not make ur stupid panini urself
miyamisuu 2 points 7m ago
Alright. My partners did it, it looks horrible $1
deathbeforedecaf1984 2 points 7m ago
I’m not taking your food back after you’ve touched it
BrotatoChip04 2 points 7m ago
There is absolutely no way I’m doing this and I’m gonna laugh at you if you ask.
the_fun_mom 2 points 7m ago
No
yzavella 2 points 7m ago
We’re not doing that for anyone periodt
JHOOOOBI 2 points 7m ago
Fuck the person who came up with this.
Mhill0823 2 points 7m ago

peepeepoopaccount 2 points 7m ago

Yannieegee 2 points 7m ago
I’m not making that
Partymixvix 2 points 7m ago
Yeah I’m not doing that…
Voxxyvoo 2 points 7m ago

Ok-Mix-5129 2 points 7m ago
No barista is going to say yes lmao
[deleted] 2 points 7m ago

Hot-Independence8670 2 points 7m ago
we aren’t even allowed to cut anything besides bagels???
swollemolle 2 points 7m ago
You’ll have to come into the cafe for this. We’re not doing it in the DT.
lilfiree 1 points 7m ago
I will look them in their eyes and tell them no.
Kitabparast 1 points 7m ago
“Can you put the cream cheese on the bagel?”

No to all of it. I might be fake nice about it, but no.
Sarenord 1 points 7m ago
Saw this point yesterday and marked out a croissant at the end of my shift, I cooked an egg for breakfast today and did this with the croissant and I must say the croissant has some kind of flavor going on that insurance weirdly with egg
kai03X 1 points 7m ago
I’ll probably try that on my half actually 😁
Lasagan 1 points 7m ago
Sir this is not tim hortons
vg_1495 1 points 7m ago
Absolutely not
darkwolf523 1 points 7m ago
“Hack”. Not a hack to save money but fr no
ohheellllno 1 points 7m ago
If they want a bacon/egg/cheese sandwich on a croissant, ask for a double smoked bacon breakfast sandwich? I can’t with these article “hacks”.
floofxs2 1 points 7m ago
As if warming wasn’t already the worst place to be.
nonogender 1 points 7m ago
i was told we were not allowed to cut anything except bagels due to our food license lmao
Lady_Grey21 1 points 7m ago
No❤️
drewdrop26 1 points 7m ago
The math for this one adds up to the bacon bites being cooked for about half the time they’re supposed to, and I really don’t see how that will make them any crispier. 🤷‍♂️ Like, your eggs are gonna be cold inside that croissant.
liggitor 1 points 7m ago
“So unfortunately we don’t assemble anything here, we just simply take them out of the package and heat them up. I can get my manager for you if you’d like”
aeb01 1 points 7m ago
the barista (me) will say no lol
jorbtherat 1 points 7m ago
yeah , no offense, if theres a rush going on im not doing this
Sacred_succotash 1 points 7m ago
The answer is no.
210Church 1 points 7m ago

graylikesoap 1 points 7m ago
