There’s this one customer at my store who always tries to finesse a coffee refill even though he doesn’t qualify for one. We used to just let him have it because the moment someone would question him or say no he would start being very rude to the baristas and escalate the situation.
We’ve only recently started unilaterally enforcing the coffee refill policy and he has had an incident with almost every partner who has denied him the coffee refill.
Anyways, a couple of weeks ago he his guy comes in again and asks for the coffee refill. I say no and he begins to raise his voice at me until he realizes I’m the shift in charge and there’s no one around for him to complain to me about. He proceeds to then take out his phone and RECORDS ME, trying to make it look like I’m just denying him his coffee refill for the fun of it.
Anyways, I charge him for his FULL PRICE coffee and like a chai tea latte. He hands me a $50 bill. I tell him, oh I’m not sure if I have change for that. Let me check the register. He then goes and RECORDS ME AGAIN, trying to make it look like I have something against him (I mean I do, but I don’t take it out on him— I just rage internally whenever he’s in the store).
So it’s after this second recording instance and I’m about to check the register to see if I have enough change. The guys says “nevermind” take his 50$ back and gives me a $100 bill instead…
WHY WOULD YOU GIVE ME A BIGGER BILL IF I SAID IM NOT SURE I HAVE CHANGE FOR THE SMALLER ONE?????????😤😤
Anyways, thank god I had enough bills so he didn’t have to take out his phone a third time 🙄. He got his drinks and left and i immediately filed an incident report.
Okay that’s it. This story just fills me with rage and I wanted to share it 😅
