Me: "hi there! What can I get started?"
Her: "can I get a tall..hot..soy..no foam..extra cinnamon..extra shot..blonde espresso..extra caramel..5 pumps vanilla..2 Splenda..add whip cream...........caramel macchiato"
(Proceeds to act annoyed when I ask her to repeat anything)

Lol i get people like this sometimes and i am not afraid or ashamed to ask them to repeat themselves because i am a human and not a computer that uploads everything they say

i get so frustrated when they do this like at least tell me the drink first then tell me the modifications 😭

My favorite is when you miss something, but read it back to them and they confirm. Then get mad that it's wrong. Like bro why do you think I asked you to confirm??

I would even mention that giving size and drink first would help expedite things bc you can't add modifications without a drink to add them to and thats why she'll often be asked to repeat her order. But idk if many ppl can be reasoned with or understand logic.

Actually you can. They coulda rang all that in and hit caramel macchiato last and it would’ve gone through fine

How would you know if soy was “with soy” or “soy” and good luck if you press the wrong button on accident and then the POS freaks out and tells you “not valid selection,” for everything even something that should be allowed because you pressed things wrong and now you have to start all over again. Customers can be given *some* grace about not knowing how to order, but at some point if you come frequently enough it’s not hard for the customer to at least say the drink first. Bending over backwards and coddling customers is what leads to things not being made right.

Huh, okay I was told differently. Maybe it was an older or different POS system.

We had a guy who would order his hot latte every morning sit there on his computer a couple hours then ask for a damn pour over during mid-day peak. Every day. And every time he’d ask if his pour over was almost done like a pesky child. Hey. Dude. Evolve. Please.

This is why I place my order on the app and not in person. Better all around for the barista and myself 😁
