Do I have to pay for Pathway to Admission if I leave? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Positive-Ad-9095
Hey so I have only ever taken one SINGULAR Pathway to Admissions class that I didn’t even add the grade of to my profile. I found a better job opportunity for me than Starbucks and I got the job. Does anyone know if I will have to pay for that class/ the rest of the classes in my degree? My manager had told me that if I took an ASU class and started my degree that I would have to pay for the rest of the degree. But technically speaking I haven’t even been admitted to ASU yet. I also am receiving no benefit from taking the class since I didn’t input the grade. Does anyone know the answer to this question? It’s very scary thinking I may be trapped at Starbucks because I took one singular class. Praying I didn’t mess up. 🙃

I don’t understand the question. Are you going to continue being enrolled at ASU after you leave Starbucks? Then yes, you have to pay. If you don’t plan on enrolling in ASU, then you can just drop out and not pay.

Pathway to Admission gets you into the school if you didn’t have the grades to automatically get in. It’s a perk given to Starbucks students. I had taken one class in the pathway to admission courses. I needed to take 4 or 5 total courses to be admitted to ASU.

I don’t plan on continuing to go to ASU when I leave. I was told if you drop out halfway through your degree that you would be forced to pay for the rest of your degree. That is what my manager said.

Your manager is completely lying, and you can look it up in the SCAP sheet. You can bail one day after a new semester started, and sbux won’t care and wont demand the money back if they already paid. You can’t be chained to a degree you don’t want, not to mention you have to continuously enroll in new classes and do the FAFSA so l would love to know how your manager thought that worked.
