My performance is not up to standard (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Ruthyrock
Soo I’ve been at the bux for almost a year, and have been told that I don’t have a sense of urgency…. I work mornings during peak. When I’m on window we always get good times. I’m on cs/upfront brewing I always make sure everyone has what they need during that time, whether that’s stocking milks, ice, syrups, refreshers you name it. When I’m in front bar i sequence properly and get the drinks out as soon as possible. I always help everyone when they need something I try to support bar whenever they need it. I go out of my way to do things. Unlike other partners who just stand around. Well apparently none of those things matter according to my manager my performance isn’t there. Idk what to think anymore. Any advice would be appreciated.

I don’t have a sense of urgency either, but no one has said anything to me about it. I just get in, work, then get the heck out.

My advice would be to ignore that comment and continue doing what your doing (which sounds more then enough). What are they gonna do, fire you? I’m sure whatever work your doing is more then they deserve out of you anyways

May be unpopular, but ask your SM what specifically you’re doing wrong and ways to improve.

Option 1: Ignore.

Option 2: Ask for specific examples. If someone alleges something about you, they need to have concrete reasons why. Often, these “concrete reasons” turn out to be an isolated incident that’s generalized, an incorrect perception about you, or just not liking you for some reason.
