I really wish the mastrena twos had the old steam wands. They just work so much better.

All I’ve known is the mastrena 2 bc my store has had them since our 2020 remodel it didn’t even occur to me that some stores are only just getting them, now I’m curious as to what the milk wand was like before (and also if the old ones broke as often as our m2s seem to 😒 tho that might just be bc of how busy our store is)

The first few months are rough with the M2, lots of issues will come up like shots not pulling, low water issues, beans getting stuck in the grinder, adjusting to the the new steaming wand and maybe I'm missing some. A few things I've learned over the last 3 years is to either auto calibrate the shots in the am throught the settings menu or just queue 5-6 double shots of each bean option every morning to calibrate with a rinse in between each bean change. Manually hit the rinse button often during peaks to avoild build up. Pour 2L of hot water into the grate every night after cleaning as well. Keep the bean grinders clean. For steaming you aerate a lot less with the new M2 for example to get regular amount of foam with 2% just aerate for 1 second, it takes some trial amd error to get used to it.
