STOP. THROWING. YOUR. MONEY. AT. ME. (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Ok-Description4413
TWO TIMES TODAY. TWICE! First, someone tries to tip a dollar on Drive thru but she looses it and it flies out of her car window. She was polite and got out of her car and grabbed it. She apologized and seemed so sweet.

Then someone tries to actually pay with a $20 and HE THROWS IT AT ME LIKE IMA CATCH IT. then he just stares forward. Doesn’t even look at me or look for the $20. I was in shock. My manager goes “you need to go get the $20” I was like BRO CAN JUST OPEN IS DOOR. ITS ON THE GROUND???? BUT NO. I had to run outside and grab it from right under his car (easily accessible to him). Dude dead ass just sat there twirling his thumbs. Then has the audacity to say “at least it wasn’t windy right! It stayed right there! 🤪”

Do not throw your money at me. I will not catch it.

I was told we aren’t supposed to go walk in the drive thru when there are cars to retrieve money because it’s a safety hazard, i dropped money one time and my shift said she would rather my drawer be short a few dollars than me risk getting hit

Imagine them actually caring about you LOL

If customers aren't allowed to work through the drive thru for safety reasons then it's idiotic to not apply the same logic to partners

Hell no your manager should honestly fuck off into oblivion.

Dafuq?? Lol no way i would go outside to get it. Nope. Literally i would ask him to open the door of his car and grab it. Its his responsibility to make sure the money for his order gets in ur hands to complete the transaction. So if he throws it and isnt lookin to see if u caught it or what happened, he should get out and grab it and hand it over to u like a normal modern day human and not just sit there like a troglodyte
Ok-Description4413 [OP] 6 points 7m ago
He definitely saw that it flew away. Just didn’t acknowledge it at all.
Responsible_Snow7109 5 points 7m ago
Then that should have been his problem. His job in this interaction is to order what he wants and hand over the money/payment method and if it doesnt make it into ur hands, he should make sure it properly gets into ur hands so u can complete the transaction. Its messed up ur manager had u go outside to get it when its literally right outside of his car door. It would be the same as if ur at mcdonalds and u are taking money or change out of ur wallet but u drop some on the ground....is the employee supposed to come out from around the counter and grab ur money off the ground for u? No u pick up ur 5 bucks or whatever it is. Its crazy how we are supposed to or expected to bring ourselves so much lower than the customers. Like this is why we get grown adults throwing tantrums cuz starbucks corporate is stupid and wants us to baby and handhold and coddle the customers every which way
Ok-Description4413 [OP] 3 points 7m ago
Right! When he made the comment about “you’re lucky it’s not windy out” I almost said “yeah, then you’d be out $20 :///“ but I just closed the window
Responsible_Snow7109 3 points 7m ago
Lmao right?? He just sat there instead like a lump and no effort ✨

He wouldnt throw a credit/debit card at u would he? If he did and it fell outside of his car, he probably would grab that right away i bet. But for him to say "ur lucky its not windy out".....then he should have opened his door for 2 seconds and grabbed his 20. He just sounds like he has that mindset of service workers being below him and thats why he was so nonchalant about not caring about his money dropping and he would have thrown a HUGE fit if that money got blown away...he would have blamed u especially since he said "YOU'RE lucky its not windy" as if its your damn responsibility to make sure HE hands u his payment method. Hes handing it over so he should make sure u have it in ur possession. He cant just throw it any which way he wants and expect the transaction to be processed and then get mad when u say his money got lost and u cant finish the order

We have the older person trash grabbing things to grab dropped cash and cards in drive through after a certain incident of somebody claiming they paid 100 dollars by throwing it at us and missed and expecting change. If that’s true we now have the grabby thing. It’s like a stick and you squeeze the one end in your hand and the other end has two fingers? That close like scissors do but they can grab stuff. Takes some time and practice but it’ll eventually work.

Someone literally folded their money really small with the nickel inside of it and handed it to me
TrashFireQueen 2 points 7m ago
$20 bill? What $20 bill? He didn’t see it fall, I didn’t see it at all. 😂 I’d ask for the payment again like he didn’t just throw cash on the ground, and also play deaf to my inhumane manager.

Man did this to me at my first job and the money fell obviously, well I told the GM who went and told the guy (still at the window) “if it doesn’t make it into the cashiers hands, it’s your problem. Now, that’ll be $17.88”

Was that your SM? Bc ngl if it was an SSV I would’ve just told them to their face that they’re crazy
Ok-Description4413 [OP] 1 points 7m ago
To technically my SSV was on her lunch and the one who told me to go get is, he is like a SM in training for another store. So he was like acting as SSV while she was gone? Idk
