Fontana strawberry/mango smoothie recipe? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by 63nuin3lyCu4i0u5
Hi yall, this might be a long shot but hopefully someone can help me with this. I work at a “license” store (serves SB drinks using Fontana syrups/sauces, but store is not SB), and the manager said we’ll be selling the strawberry/mango smoothies now. No one in our store knows how to make it and the manager didnt show anyone. I found an old recipe card in the back for t/g/v sizes, and it has only 3 ingredients. It says:
1) Add appropriate size ice scoop;
2) Pump the strawberry/mango bev base 3/4/6 fl.oz (1 pump = 1 fl.oz) ; and
3) For all 3 sizes: “add 1-3 fl.oz of water or milk”, with a note saying “Amount of water or dairy needed per drink size will vary and depends on ice type.”

Im unclear on several things here:
- Is the recipe with 2% or whole milk by default?
- What can i use to measure out the milk ounces? Is there a line in the cold cup i should be pouring to?
- How much water/milk is for each size? Did the recipe just simply mean 1/2/3 fl.oz for t/g/v, or will it always range?
- Is it blended on 1 or 2?

Sorry for having so many questions! I just want to get this right so that i can guide the others correctly because the wrong recipes get thrown around at our store a lot. Thank you for any help!

I started working for Starbucks (corporate stores not licensed) in 2012 so if the smoothie recipe was different before then hopefully someone here can update us but when we still had these smoothies while I was working the recipe was only available for a grande size.

The recipe was:

Strawberry or mango purée to first line

2% milk to second line

2 scoops protein powder

1 banana

Yellow scoop (slightly smaller than a tall scoop if your ice scoops are different/updated) of ice.

Blend on 1 (same setting as a Frappuccino). Pour into cup, no toppings.

Hmm i see, this is much different than what they want us to make! I guess ours is more of a simple fruit smoothie rather than a protein one. I’ll keep this recipe in mind tho, thanks!
