- make sure you’re not foaming the milk too much
- tap the milk pitcher on the counter/gently swirl it until all the bubbles are gone and you have a thin layer of micro foam on top
- pour the milk *slowly* into the cup, tilting the cup at a 45° angle so you’re pouring down the edge of the cup, this should result in the dark caramel color without the white dot forming
- when there’s like an inch of room left, straighten the cup and pour the milk quickly to the top, this should form the white dot of foam without it being too big

steam milk for about 3 seconds or 5 seconds depending on skill level and pour the milk with a small stream, but make sure that it flows into the cup smoothly and not splashing
