Grande in a venti cup mess(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by IndustrySerious
I think that that is such a huge scam and should be an extra charge. Thoughts?

I will start caring when the extra charge shows up on my paycheck.
Edit: If you’re new to this company, that means it won’t happen

this is the correct response always lol

Just don’t fill it up all the way. If they ask you to fill it to the top, charge them.

I like extra EXTRA ice, so I know the way to order my drink to be pretty consistent at other stores is this way. For hot drinks… unless you’re adding a whole bunch of syrups or want extra whip? I don’t see the point and we just leave the cup with room.
We’ve had a lady order a grande hot tea in a tall cup. Bottom line: she didn’t want to pay for the extra tea bag. We just give her the cup on the side, it can just become her problem.

yeah, our store has no issues with *grande in a venti* for extra ice or extra whip or multiple extra shots, and we’ll even do *tall in a grande* for the single-teabag hot tea (i know this one is more contentious, but we’ve decided to let it go since it’s just a little more hot water).
if it’s in-store we’ll double check if they want room or if they want extra of anything (and explain/charge appropriately); if it’s a mobile/delivery we’ll just leave room.

And mobile ordering has made people so bold, they don’t even have to be embarrassed with their scammy ways

How is it a huge scam? You shouldn’t be filling it up all the way unless they want extra of something that is free like whipped cream or ice. And my customers only order in a size larger with the understanding that they will either have more room or get extra ice or whipped cream or something

I mean, a lot of things can be annoying but at the end of the day, it’s not coming out of your paycheck and it really doesn’t matter. The company is always going to have the customers side anyway

I hate when peeps do that, they just want MORE free oatmilk...😡

There’s a customer who comes in and orders a venti strawberry açaí in a Trenta cup for extra ice and I just don’t understand?
Late_Pomelo_9992 points7m ago
When it’s something like that, it should be charged as a trenta with extra ice I think. Honestly it depends on the drink
swisschalamet1 points7m ago
For me, it depends on the customer and the drink. I have a few regulars who order their drip coffee like this because they commute on the train/drive and don’t want their coffee to spill because it’s filled to the brim. I also have a couple of regulars who just love whipped cream and want extra without it spilling out the top of the cup.
It’s the entitled people who go ‘why isn’t this full’ that make me wanna pounce out the window and wring their necks
