I feel fucking awful because I was an hour and a half late for work (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by TalkingTapeCassette
I’ve been working for about 2 months now and never was more than like 3 minutes late to start my shift. Today however, I slept in thinking I didn’t work that day because I’ve been using my calendar on my phone to type in my shifts and I didn’t type it in for today because I either forgot or didn’t see it.

I hate how hard it is to sign into the partners app. It would be way easier if I could just sign into it on the app and look at my hours that way but I don’t understand how and I’m probably gonna have to ask for help tomorrow. I’m just really sad because I’ve been working hard to improve how well I perform here and I was very late and I don’t want to ever get fired from Starbucks because it’s probably my favorite job that I’ve worked.

Hey, it happens to everyone once in a while don’t worry about it! Only thing is to not make it a habit

And just so you remember, the store will be there whether tomorrow and the day after that regardless of anything. It won’t burn down because of an innocent mistake like that I promise ❤️

That happened to me I lost my keys. My SSV was upset but things happen. He ended up calling the manager and I didn’t get written up.

I moved to mornings recently and the change was such a culture shock i was like 15 minutes late like everyday almost. I also felt hella guilty but i just had to laugh it off. Hell yesterday i was an hour late to work cause i lost my KEYS. I always just offer to stay a bit longer to help out and just drop it. Everyone forgets about it like a week from now

Please do not feel guilty. Shit happens. And as long as this isn’t a regular occurrence the worst that can happen is you be written up but I highly doubt that knowing you haven’t been late before. I’m a store manager and was 3.5 hours late to my coverage shift friday because I thought I didn’t work 🤦‍♂️ It’s ok

Shit happens. It was one time, I’m sure everyone understands.

If it helps to any regard, I was in the same exact boat just a week or two ago... I have only been working for about 3 months and one morning my store had to open short handed because I read the wrong day's schedule. Life happens and as everyone else said, it's perfectly fine as a mistake once, just try your best to not make it a habit!
