Get liaison with the union so you know what to expect. Don’t go into it blind!
I went from a non-union to a union store in a matter weeks and yes we did strike on occasion. We still don’t have a contract. I don’t think any store does.

My store voted in July and still have no contract. Yet, 4 people have been fired and the new hires have more hours than the union partners. I’ve been looking for another job :/
