lmao my store has had gun threats, break ins, theft, stalkers, ect., and has only been able to ban one person so far. I wish you luck with banning an entitled customer with only one event. I was told we had to file multiple irf’s to collect enough evidence to ever get the chance of banning someone. this is coming from a high-incident store.

that's a tough one..
did he cuss you guys out, get abusive? get violent? or was he just an obnoxious rude entitled Starbucks customer?
Starbucks really likes to accommodate entitled customers vs protecting baristas. it's a big part of the union movement. we all know we shouldn't be treated this way, and unless some very serious lines are crossed, Starbucks doesn't care.
I don't know how protective your manager is of you all but this person would not be banned by my store's SM.

Yep. I’ve since quit, but I remember a regular who constantly made baristas uncomfortable. He always was asking us out and making comments about bodies, looks, etc.
One day he came in and told our shift that he hired someone to come to the store and draw him pictures of her, and now they’re hanging up in his bedroom, and he thinks of her when he *ya know*.
They refused to ban him bc he was another race and “It’s probably just cultural differences. He spends a lot of money here.”
With regulars, Starbucks values the constant income much much more than your feelings.

If they would’ve refused to ban the man who made comments like that because of “cultural differences”, I would have sued them for sexual harassment. I don’t give a fuck what’s acceptable where he comes from, that’s not acceptable here.

be careful about tampering. Even for decaffing it’s a fireable offense. Not to say he didn’t deserve it but yknow.

I wish it was that easy to ban a customer, the process is long and tedious. Also, don’t quote me on this, but apparently they need to at least get multiple incident reports to be able to get a ban paperwork started. So I always tell partners to never neglect filing incident reports b/c not only does it get your store more labour hours, but it might come in handy in the future.

Regardless of how a customer behaves, tampering with their drink is just… stooping to their level. And can get dangerous in some situations. Do not do this as a retaliation. Be nice nasty to them. Dont f up their drink
