Christmas parties (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by -Ana--
Do any of yalls store have Christmas parties? If so do your DMs or SMs foot the costs for the parties? Or do y'all have to pay out of pocket for hall rental/catered food?

you guys are getting parties?
-Ana-- [OP] 7 points 6m ago
Kinda ridiculous that a company this big can't afford to give us silly little parties hey?

if its mandatory meeting its paid for by the company and we are all clocked in.

A meeting and a party are not the same
clouds183 4 points 6m ago
my store calls them the same and all required 🤷

Not referring to a meeting. Referring to a party, food, games, laughs etc.

We’re having one today but it’s the one day I’m going out of town :/

We were having a white elephant party but half the girls didn’t understand what it meant so it changed last minute to secret Santa. But it’s kinda like a potluck at someone’s house

last year our store went to the bowling alley and it was completely free and they even ordered some food n drinks but anything extra was our own money. this year we’re just having a potluck in the store and closing a couple hours early

Oh see that doesn't sound too bad. Last year we just had it in the cafe and did potluck, but we weren't allowed to close early.

This year they rented out a restaurant starting at 9pm, and partners have to pay to get the food catered. Still not allowed to close early. Our district doesn't allow for a party budget ☹️

that’s literally so stupid why would anyone come if they have to pay themselves. really goes to show how much y’all r appreciated too //:

Fuck listen to this. I'm on a very limited diet, and when I seen the catering menu and realized I couldn't have any of it, my manager told me to bring my own food or just have a cheat day 🤦🏻‍♀️

We got an allotted amount for our district that was divided by each store and amount of partners. Ended up being $20/per partner. It was charged to our P-card.

Are you a US partner? My SM says Starbucks Canada doesn't allow Christmas party budget.
