If I leave the company, what happens to my 401k? (self.starbucksbaristas)

I’ve been considering leaving the company, but I have a pretty good amount saved in my 401k. How do I keep that money? Do I need to go to another employer that also offers a 401k?

The info you need is in $1. Basically, you can roll it over into a new retirement account, or withdraw the money (and pay the associated taxes on it).

!! i’m quitting in two weeks, but i’m in canada so we have RRSP and not 401k. does anyone know what to do with that?

at my last job they used the same company and i was able to roll it over and basically combine them
