can you do app refunds in store? (self.starbucksbaristas)

I had a mobile customer ask for a refund whil I was on bar, I told them sure, they can do that for you at the register. Then my shift chimed in saying we can't at the store the customer would ha e to contact support....
Is this true? Was there an update that this can no longer be done? We did app refunds all the time at my old store before I transfered.

You can do a refund at the POS, go into refund mode, put the drink in, then for funds select app as form of payment and it should only allow refund to the app. If it was paid with stars tho, that’s customer support I think

Because if you refund a Mobile customer in the store, they can also go through customer service to request a refund and then they get a double refund.
