There is no legally mandated hour minimum

You have to work in a car? What?

Hey I think they’re saying they have to work in a cafe only store due to their accommodations! :)

but you have to do average of 12 a week to not get fired?
RosieHarlan 10 points 6m ago
Yeah but that’s a company policy, not a law.

Soooo many people on this sub can’t seem to distinguish between legally mandated labor laws and Starbucks policies lol

Maybe they're saying they have to work DT with the headset bc they're HOH?...

I was trying to say that I cant work dt because of it . I cant hear anything through them and not even the ones that they have hoh people wear cause thoughs make my hearing aids squeal.

Get accommodations thru Sedgwick and you won’t have to wear the headset and will legally be protected

SM here, a few things —

1) Have you applied for a medical accommodation/ disability accommodation (i.e are you medically diagnosed as hard of hearing or deaf)

2) Do you have at least 18 hours of availability in you schedule?

3) Have you talked with your manager about scheduling you more hours (they’re required to make sure you’re getting the 12 hours unless you’re constantly requesting vacation time or calling off)?

4) Is there a something hindering your stores operations? Like are you closing early, closing unexpectedly for a few days, understaffed in general, overstaffed in general?

We had a hard if hearing partner at my old store. My SM ordered them a special headset for partners who were HOH. Maybe talk to your manager about it?

The simplest option would be to transfer to a cafe-only store, assuming one is accessible to you in terms of transportation. Is that an option?
