Has anyone else accidentally f’ed up and put whip on an almond sugar cookie drink- I felt so stupid. And it was a cafe drink and the customer saw me do it and then top it with sprinkles. I only realized what I did until I went to lid it and I died internally (my store doesn’t just let us scrape it off the top we have to remake the drink entirely)

i once made a latte with no espresso- only realized because the customer tasted it. we all have those moments, just remake the drink n keep going !

Also I think it’s funny to mention but I also forgot to add ice into a Frap and only realized after I “blended” it
bellamythos15 points6m ago
gonna be honest, I have done this more than once. sometimes you just go on autopilot and forget that you haven’t added ice yet, especially if you’re either really in the zone or someone interrupted you mid-sequence!

Literally me, I was pouring up a Java chip and was thinking wow I just really didn't add enough ice. Oh, I didn't add any ice. Love rushes

We were particularly busy this week so my shift was exhausted, and when she went to take a frap she made out of the blender she pulled out an empty, lidded pitcher. She literally blended nothing lmfao

You can’t scrape it off just in case they have a milk allergy or are lactose intolerant. It’s an easy mistake to make as the Frappuccino has whipped in it and most of the other holiday drinks do too. No biggie, make a new one and keep it moving!

my personal policy is that if they have a non-dairy milk, i remake the drink. if the milk is 2%, whole, or nonfat, i just scrape off the whip.

As someone with severe allergies I would say to just remake it if it’s a mobile and if it’s a DT or cafe order and someone has said it was a allergy I would sanitise a pitcher before steaming the almond milk. I have a wheat allergy and if someone say started preparing ny sandwich on a wheat bread then realises and put those same ingredients on a GF bread id still need to use a epipen.

Yeah I usually do entirely re make but there a couple partners I know who do scrape
Alarming_Base31481 points6m ago
How can you work for Starbucks with all the wheat flying around at warming and in all the crumb sprinkles? yikes.
clouds1833 points6m ago
it’s likely an ingestion allergy, likely not a contact allergy
Apprehensive-You52611 points6m ago
This!! Yes I can prepare things with wheat just not eat them. I also wear a mask always since covid started so that also help
Alarming_Base31481 points6m ago
I know people who can't even work when pistachio is released.. wasn't sure. some cases inhalation can be a thing too!
I know it's not like we work in bakeries or anything. honestly just curious.

It can be also because the Sugar Cookie Frap gets whip. But the lattes do not. It can be confusing.
Educational_Chef90303 points6m ago
… i told a customer that the sugar cookie comes with whip cream already today 😭
sammieduck694202 points6m ago
welcome to the human experience! we’re all a little crazy. but one thing that i love is that it’s all about how you do, not what’s done. you can make as many mistakes as needed and as long as you have the initiative to keep going and learn, there’s no better way to go!
Cautious_Bank96611 points6m ago
boy am i glad to see this. i always thought it automatically came with whip cream!
Psychorat0419 [OP]1 points6m ago
Yeah mostly all of the seasonal drinks do!! Just not that one lol
sofaye-go1 points6m ago
i’ve had to remake the same drink like 3 dif times on several occasions. there’s so much information for us to sort through our whole shifts and sometimes it’s overwhelming. we all go through this. shake it off and remake it. try not to get too frustrated with yourself. remember, it’s just coffee. <3

i remade someone’s drink yesterday because i forgot to put decaf instead of regular espresso.
in all of my attempts to make sure i remembered to make it decaf, i apparently also forgot the toasted white mocha syrup. i served this poor man a plain decaf latte, and he drank it and came back up to me like “hey im sorry but this,,,just tastes like a plain latte?”
