I'm sorry y'all don't get paid extra working holidays??

The fuck!

As a customer how can I help? I already protest local stores trying to unionize. This is absolute bullshit and I'm fuming for you all.
MrDunsparces 20 points 6m ago
Tip! Christmas >DAY< is by signup only, time and a half, and only the people that worked that day (at my store at least) split those tips. Tipping is generally a big help.
marklandia 4 points 6m ago
Christmas Day is no longer by signup only. The signup sheet is a courtesy and if there aren’t enough signups, people will be scheduled anyway. I haven’t heard of that scenario happening in my bubble but it’s a thing.

Thats what happened at our store. Only 2 people volunteered so they just scheduled a bunch without telling us it was no longer voluntary.

You got it! I'm glad it's volunteer based!

"how can I help" aw! This made me smile.
Responsible_Snow7109 6 points 6m ago
I also appreciate that u are out there for the simple fact that u said "how can i help?" 🧡

you deserve free drinks forever
Foreign_Service3102 2 points 6m ago
I used to work there, but even before then my mom and I would go through the dt every Christmas and tip big. Like 20 bucks minimum. Then I worked there and took Christmas off, we still tipped big. Christmas day you should just be more generous, tis the season! You're the best kind of costumer.

Don’t go to Starbucks on the holidays
Ordinary-Theory-8289 1 points 6m ago
Christmas Eve isn’t a federal holiday. Starbucks pays for more time and a half days than any other company in this industry lol
Sirmarchboy22 22 points 6m ago
Uuhhh we don't tho
Sirmarchboy22 20 points 6m ago
Unless I'm highly mistaken, we only get extra on mlk, juneteenth, Christmas, thanks giving memorial day and labor day.
Great-Requirement476 12 points 6m ago
and new years!
sleepykilljoy 6 points 6m ago

if they were under the impression Christmas Eve was one of those days, they would feel they have no reason to google it. jerk.
plaidflannelgirl 3 points 6m ago
there should be no reason to google when some SM’s tell us baristas that xmas eve and nye was time and a half… and it’s actually not. my SM told us all that those were time and a half like the OP’s SM told them. 😗
cynderislame 3 points 6m ago
yes,, sorry if my comment was confusing but that’s what I was saying. If a higher up has told you something directly, why would you google it??
plaidflannelgirl 2 points 6m ago
no i’m sorry i thought you were agreeing with the maker of the comment about not feeling robbed lol, you and i are on the same page

We did, but they changed it last year I think. Two years ago I worked all the eve’s and got time and a half, but I guess they made some cut backs since they raised wages to $15/hr
Lamar-JacksonSzn 14 points 6m ago
this is incorrect
grungelover03 2 points 6m ago
Yeah I checked my handbook from when I was hired and I think I confused holiday hours with holiday pay😪
Lamar-JacksonSzn 2 points 6m ago
haha all good! we definitely should get holiday pay everytime there are holiday hours
grungelover03 1 points 6m ago
