shift removed with no notice?(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by shortblondebarista
for context, we have a fill-in manager from another store running things while our manager is out of town.
today i called out due to having a nasty cold and knowing i won’t be better by tomorrow, i messaged a partner to see if they can cover my shift tomorrow morning.
i’ve had no response yet from the partner, yet my shift for tomorrow was removed by the fill-in manager even though they have not reached out or asked me about it yet.
my question is can they remove a shift without contacting me first? should i contact someone to see if this is okay?

You called out and the manager removed your shift that you weren’t planning to arrive to. What seems to be the problem?

i called out for today’s shift only… i had messaged a partner about possibly covering my shift for tomorrow, but had not heard back from them and it was just suddenly removed from the app with no contact :(

I believe the policy is you have to be symptom free for 24 hours before returning to work. So depending on your symptoms and the shift timelines that may be the cause.

With the way labor has been lately they probably deleted your shift rather than having someone else pick it up
