would i be an asshole if i just wrote my letter of resignation and left if on the counter (i’m a closer) and then never showed up again

edit- i work two jobs and starbucks is scheduling me completely outside of my availability and since it’s a blackout period for the holidays i can’t get rid of my shifts. i’ve talked to management abt it but they said they can’t do anything

It's the whole fuck around and find out thing. One of my old horrible DMs told our SM that she could schedule people outside of their availability and my SM was just like, I'm not going to do that, they're just not going to show up. Sure, apparently it's within Starbucks policy to schedule outside of your availability, but then you deal with the very real possibility of that person just going, "k byeeee." It's insane how little upper management thinks of the people working in the stores. I've heard some of the things that have been said second hand and it's gross.

Lol no. It’s nice enough to write a note. Your life homie go live it. If anyone takes it personally that’s on them.

Yes, YWBTA. I’m on my second rehire at starbucks and I certainly thought I’d never be back after the last one. I’m glad I left on good terms every time bc the siren has always been there to welcome me back

That being said we’re serving coffee not saving lives. Take care of yourself first. If that means quitting with no notice then do your thing

Similar scenario here. Glad to have it in my back pocket, but completely understand just dipping.

Write it on a post it and stick it to an iPad. Good luck on your journey!

It’s an asshole thing to do, but honestly who cares, put yourself first :)

If you wanted to be extra nice then I’d say let the shifts (that wouldn’t be at fault for availability issues) know about your absence so they could know.
