thats nice that your sm put in the effort of finding other stores when your store closed early. my sm would never and just let us be out of luck on the hours we were supposed to get. you always have the right to say no if you’re not scheduled to work at another store but thats so nice they even offered. I would have loved that effort from my sm personally.

Yeah that is true. I just didn't like that he kinda just told us to go to another store. Even if our shift was pretty much over. And then he was so condescending when I said I would rather just go home.

Idk about HAVING to work at another store but I just told my SM that I was very uncomfortable working in a different store and she never asked me again.

My old SM however would just call with no warning and tell us we were going to another store, I didn’t have a backbone then and just did it. It’s very awkward and you don’t know any of the partners and the layout is different. From then on I refused to work anywhere but my home store unless I asked to.

Edit: just to add on, my current SM just asks if we want to help out other stores for hours since they’ve been cut so it’s kind of helpful for those who want them.

The temporary SM we had pretty much did what your old SM did. The shift supervisor on for that day would tell us we had to go to another store to finish our shift. I just didn't like that considering the other stores didn't even need the help.
I think asking is totally fine but I wish he would've respected when I said no and not rip me a new one when I said no.
